Heyyy, look at that!
You started at an AHI of 88 in the study, and now at home you've already dropped down to 18.5!
That is no small achievement. Woo hoo!
Keep hammering away at it, you will get to the happy place before you know it.

Re: bad primary care doctor...
I am not happy with my pcp either. I have told my doctor several times that I felt bad and did not sleep well. She would tell me that people just feel bad when they get old. They told a close friend of mine that when he started falling, having trouble reading, etc. Turns out he was having TIAs left...

Re: Newbie with aerophagea
I am using the exhale relief. I had to take a break for a few weeks because of a bad head cold, I never get this... I treasure my cpap MORE when I've got a bad head/chest cold. moist air to loosen up the gunk, a bit of pressure to help open up the passageways... cpap, for me, is a huge *PLUS* with ...

Re: Resmed P10 fit
I had the same thing happen, but when I switched to the small size, it was just fine. You can try a dab of silicone-safe lotion to lubricate it, or go down a size. Also, do you have a cutout on the side of your pillow for the mask? It's worth a try...I got a slab of foam and carved it with cutouts a...

Also get some ginger candies. They help ease the icky stomach feeling.

Re: difference in ahi from a good night to a bad night
For me, a bad night usually means half-awake flopping around in the bed like a dying trout, which is arousals, and sometimes that corresponds to a higher number of hypopneas, but not always. My AHI was 1.9 last night, which is the best yet, even though I had a bad stomachache that kept waking me up....

Re: This isn't working, need help.
Another thing I noticed is I have at least one nostril always closed, even with the mask on. When I went into consult for MMA surgery they found I have narrow nasal passageways, and for years my CT scans have always showed swollen sinusitis. Ugh this is just a nightmare. I have this too, and while ...

Re: bad primary care doctor...
I'm sort of kind of amazed at the lack of knowledge about sleep apnea among the medical professionals I have dealt with. Honestly, this is the place to come for information. And I am so thankful it is here, and for the folks that help everyone out every day. Don't be amazed. It's not that unusual. ...

Re: Pressure too high for mask?
Ahhh I thought I was the only one getting the hamster cheeks! Last night I switched pillows after realising I was using a size too large and chapping my schnozz, but I was worried it wasn't sealing and getting all the air into me. But then my cheeks puffed up and I was like, "that wouldn't happen if...

This is why I spend more for nonstop, and if it's super important, it goes in my carryon.
My Dreamstation came with its own little zipper case, so that makes things easy.

Re: Help make sense of my sleep study report? Trilogy AVAPS
That is fascinating and confusing.
The thing that jumps out at me is "AVAPS appeared optimal," down towards the end of the letter. This makes me think that those are the settings they want.
But yeah, an AVAPS expert would be better equipped.

Re: Kicked out Sleep Dr's Practice. Dme-Dr in with each other?..
This thread makes me feel very fortunate in the doctor and DME supplier I got... They did the polysomnography whatsit with a million wires and all that, a week later I got results, the next appointment open was over a month out But then one night they called me with an opening because of a cancellat...

I wish you could see my doctor. Anything she doesn't know, she gets me a referral for, and asks me how it was afterwards.

Re: Heartburn
I have GERD, and I get bags of ginger chews (not candied ginger slices, they're very tough and fibrous) like Chimes or Gin-Gins. They help quite a lot, and I have Zantac for those times when the ginger doesn't cut it. I also put lime juice in my water.

Re: New to Forum
Ok, I will try the vaseline on the mask. And I am resetting the CPAP numbers tonight. Im very thankful for your good advice/suggestions. My doctor seemed glad to send me home with an AHI of 13, since it had come down from 32 on my sleep study. This forum is invaluable, but you all get that. Now I t...
