Re: Cervical collar works to keep jaw shut, but....
Thanks for sharing your ideas. After reading more on the Opti02 and MFT exercises, the more accurate description of this issue is: improper tongue posture and tongue collapse or lazy tongue and palate tissue which, I assume, loses elasticity and tone as we age. More on the device here: https://sparr...

Re: Cervical collar works to keep jaw shut, but....
Here's the bottom line after trial and error: the problem is neither keeping the jaw or lips shut. It is keeping my tongue from relaxing and falling back. Once I lose the vacuum my tongue creates by keeping it pressed against my teeth, the air pressure from the CPAP pushes up into my mouth and force...

Re: Cervical collar works to keep jaw shut, but....
The problem is not keeping the jaw shut. It's keeping my lips from flapping open while my jaw is shut. Chinstraps, tried them all, they force your chin to recede causing worse apnea + TMD and also do not alleviate the leak from the mouth.

Cervical collar works to keep jaw shut, but....
So I have been trialing the recommended Coreflex cervical collar. While it is effective in keeping my jaw shut, it fails to prevent my lips from eventually flapping open from the CPAP pressure once my tongue relaxes. Then comes the dreaded dry mouth just as bad as without anything. Forget mouth tape...

Sudden onset of desats - can't figure out why
Sudden onset last 4 days in worsening desats. CPAP pressure still @ 8.6 02 concentrator still @ 2.5L/min Readings posted here: https://app.box.com/s/bhq2vfl7tzd5jyskp6rs299uwlya7fa8 (dates shown are not accurate; my 02 Ring messes up the date unless I refresh the app after each use). As you can see,...

CPAP & EYE PRESSURE - CONSENSUS OF OPINION
A friend of mine had developed severe glaucoma partially due to 10 years of CPAP and is going blind despite multiple surgeries. Advanced Intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction is the only known modifiable risk factor and his IOPs are very low, yet he's still losing because the nerve heads are so erode...

Re: Wireless SD Card Data-transfer for ResScan / SH
I just got the Toshiba FlashAir III W03 16GB Wireless SD Memory Card as I was advised. I use Windows 10 and OSCAR is loaded on that. Using a DreamStation. I was only able to get as far as #2. I have no clue how to find what drive the card is in + there is nothing that says "My Computer", but there i...

Re: Monitoring data wirelessly
I just got the Toshiba FlashAir III W03 16GB Wireless SD Memory Card as I was advised. But I haven't a clue what the next step is. Can anyone post a link to or have step-by-step instructions to use it to transmit the data using my OSCAR software?? I use both Windows 10 and OSCAR loaded on that. Woul...

Follow up titration study.
Compared to last study:
- PLM index and arousals increased
- sleep efficiency improved
- hypopnea and apnea + hypopneas improved

Re: PROGRESSIVE RECENT INCREASE IN AHI & PERIODIC BREATHING
Spikes in PB are still a problem. Here, we see it increase with testing out increased pressure last night. https://i.imgur.com/DBZhDvq.png I did not show CSR or CSA on my titration from last month. I assume that CSR is the same as PB on the titration study? I don't what to make of these findings. ...

Re: AHI increasing each day - need help!
Update: So as my pulmonologist goes by symptoms and not readings which, based on my latest readings/symptoms (as in my post above), he felt I was not optimally treated via CPAP 8.0 or higher (yah think?) and advised to do yet another titration study to trial BIPAP and failing that, ASV. Again, he e...

Monitoring data wirelessly
I have a modem installed on my DreamStation and would like to monitor the detailed data on my card without having to pull the card every day. What I need to know is how to import the card wirelessly using Oscar. Appreciate any advice.

I just happened to do a search to see if there was anything on growth appliances and your post came up. As with many of us, I had extraction ortho (dual bicuspids) in the late 60s (I am now 60) and now suffer from OSA and TMD. I have already looked into various non-surgical adult growth appliances t...

Re: AHI increasing each day - need help!
Wow, I just checked this thread and didn't know I had messages. I did not get any alerts in my inbox this time which is strange. I see that there are a few past posts on PVCs and palpitations going back to 2007. Will have more to report after doc appt. tomorrow. Between that and research, will repor...

Sorry. Thought it got buried in my original thread because no one responded so re-posted.
