Yep, I had them in the early days. I think it's totally normal.
They went away quick. Not sure how long it took to stop but it wasn't much of an issue for me.
This is a new thing for you so some weird things should be expected.

5 years. Diagnosed at an early age (21). Funny how I feel so much better physically in my mid-late twenties than my college years. heh

Re: I fear my nose is getting wider by using Nose Pillow
You just made me log into my Facebook account and compare pre and post CPAP pictures to see if my nostrils grew. Thanks
I'm happy to report that, no, my nose and nostrils have not grown.

Re: What's the cause and effect of Weight and Sleep Apnea
My first plan of action if I was overweight and was diagnosed with sleep apnea would be to adopt a healthier lifestyle (better eating and exercise habits). Yeah, it might not cure your sleep apnea, but it's definitely worth a shot. Being overweight isn't going to help your health, that's for sure. H...

Re: Feeling self conscious about starting therapy, ladies??
Was it the cost of the machine that's making him upset? Or the fact that you have to wear a mask at night? Has he even stopped to explain why he wasn't fully on board? I think it's important to identify why he's upset. However, the fact of the matter is, if you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, ...

The iPhone is my vice when I hit the hay. I know I need to get rid of that habit, but it's tough to break.
That "blue light" that is emitted from our electronic devices isn't good for your melatonin levels, according to the science people.
Electronics right before bed just feels wrong, personally.

Re: Cleaning habits
I was cleaning it every other day when I first got a CPAP. I got lazy and started cleaning it once every 2-4 weeks for a while. For hygiene purposes, I think once or more per week is solid. Basically, if you have mold and weird stuff growing, you need to be doing a better job. I've never had anythin...

Couple weeks is all it took. And I actually found the CPAP to be therapeutic...it helped me fall asleep faster.

Re: just got diagnosed
My sleep apnea was considered "mild" and I felt like crap every day...and I was barely 20 years old when I realized my snoring was more than just snoring. CPAP therapy has changed everything. All of this may seem confusing to you. My suggestion is to not worry too much about the numbers. If you can ...

Re: if I could just keep my mouth shut
Are you doing nasal cleansing before bedtime? Have you tried lowering your heated humidity setting? Too much heated humidity can make nasal congestion worse. Taping mouth shut. (3M easy release painter''s tape) . I would honestly suggest you do NOT tape your mouth shut. I tried that once and caught...

Re: Darth Vader noise!
I have no idea how you sleep without a fan going. I've gotten so used to having white noise that I can't go without it.
Yeah, it's cold right now. But I just point the fan away from the bed.
Or you could spend $20 on Amazon for a white noise machine.

However, I think owning an oral device in case of emergencies is a good idea.
