Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
Hi, I'm relatively new to cpap therapy. I've been using my cpap for just under a month, but I already have some positive results. First, I'm getting more sleep, and better quality sleep. For me, that means about 5-6 hours of sleep a night, which is much better than I was getting before (2-4 hours). ...

Re: First Night on cpap - questions
You should read the posts in this thread concerning focusing on your breathing versus letting your autonomous system take over to breathe naturally. Thanks for the advice everyone. I tried ChicagoGranny's advice last night...I didn't focus on my breathing, and made my mind focus elsewhere, like ima...

Thanks for the feedback.
I've tried disabling Pressure Relief. I don't see anything other enable / disable for that in the user guide that came with it.

First Night on cpap - questions
Hi all, I've just completed my first night on cpap therapy. I'm using a resmed airsense s10 autoset with the humidifier and climateline heated tubing. My doctor has the range set from 5-15. Also using a air f10 mask. For the first little bit, I had some problems adjusting. I had leaks in the mask, b...

Re: How long did it take before you first got diagnosed.
Well, I was recently diagnosed. I went in to my primary care doctor on Oct 20th, who thought I might have sleep apnea. She referred me to a sleep specialist, who also suspected sleep apnea, and ordered a sleep study. I was lucky and got a sleep study scheduled quickly, and got my results back on Nov...

Good point, I'll keep that in mind. I have a couple of different ones I can experiment with.As Pugsy indicated, the bed pillow is more important than the mask itself.

best type of mask for side sleeper
Hi,
Just a quick question. I was recently diagnosed with osa, and am getting my new machine tomorrow (resmed Airsense 10 autoset) and mask, and wanted to know if you had any suggestions for the best type of mask for a side sleeper?
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
My blood 02 dropped a bit below normal too, but I don't remember the numbers.
Hopefully I'll be able to get started soon. Just working through insurance now to get the machine ordered.

New User newly diagnosed with Mild oSA
Hi all,
Glad to have found this board. I just got my results back my sleep study, and was diagnosed with mild osa. My AHI was 18, and the doctor ordered a cpap machine (Airsense 10 autoset). Just wondering if it's common to have cpap therapy recommend for mild cases of osa?
Thanks.
