Re: Nasal congestion and nasal mask
Ellen1159, I wish I had some help for you. I'm in the same boat. I always have sinus issues. The pressure of the air actually helps me breathe. But as soon as I take my mask off in the morning, I'm so swollen. Massive headaches, sinus and teeth pain. Feel just plain horrible. It didn't used to be th...

Re: Alleviating Stubborn Nasal Congestion/Dryness
I'm fairly new to xpap. I have a lot of sinus problems too. I use the Wisp normally but if I'm extra congested I find my nasal pillows are better. I can't remember the name but is a Phillips Resperonics one. As for the dairy, there is a protein in cow's milk that about half of the population reacts ...

Understood. I have kiddo's in the house and I agree it sucks to put your mask on and freeze your sinuses.

Good to know!
I start my warm up before I begin my bedtime routine. By the time I'm done, everything is nice and warm. Just curious here but why would you want your warm up to be so long before actually using the machine?

Re: Headache Experiences?
Once of the biggest reasons I explored sleep apnea was the EVERY SINGLE DAY headaches and high BP I developed. I only get a headache now for sinus congestion, kink in my neck and such. My "apnea" headaches went away the first night. I have been able to sleep through the night from the first night wi...

Re: Blood Pressure
I found out about my apnea because my normally low BP spiked and wouldn't come down. It didn't respond well to medication either. Since I was also complaining about being so tired, they ordered a sleep study. My pressure is already dropping and I'm med free!

I'm new too.
From the I put one PR's "Wisp" I was in love. It is so soft and seals really well to my face. I don't wake up with marks on my face either. I toss and turn a lot as well (like pulling the sheets of the corners of the bed).
Good luck finding what works for you!

Re: My husband just doesn't understand.
Lsat, my DME rep is part of the hospital here. They actually recommended that I come in for a fitting then take my script to cpap.com to purchase the mask. I appreciate their honestly. She said their FFM's start at $300! That's robbery! Gasper62, he has out of control diabetes. He refuses to do anyt...

Re: My husband just doesn't understand.
Thank you everyone for your understanding. It really does help! I finally was able to connect with my DME rep. I am coming in Monday to be fitted for a mask. I have NEVER touched a FFM so getting fitted will give me a great start in finding one. My insurance will cover one per three months. Since th...

Re: My husband just doesn't understand.
Pugsy,
You are very generous. I shot off an email to my DME rep. last night as well. Let's see what she comes up with (maybe nothing) and go from there.
I love having somewhere I can go when I have cpap related issues. I for sure thought my husband. Thank you all for having me.

Re: My husband just doesn't understand.
Thank you everyone for your replies. Lsat, I have been using the NeilMed system for seven years. I had horrible chronic sinus infections and that keeps them away. It also shortens how long I have a cold. Thank heavens! Den, I agree with you. I don't have a model mask in mind. I have never tried one ...

My husband just doesn't understand.
So I am new to sleep apnea and cpap. We have four younger children and cold and flu season has begun. I want to prepare for the possibility that I will become congested this winter and need a full face mask not just my Wisp. My insurance will only cover one mask per three months. I am very grateful ...

Re: Getting CPAP & Mask Today - Advice Needed
Yup, I'm in love with my wisp too. It's soft and flexible and I think that helps with leaks. I toss and turn a lot and I don't have leaks or marks on my face from being too tight. Win win!

Wow. Good for you for advocating for your LIFE!
I have only ever had the ResMed Autoset. I absolutely LOVE IT! I don't feel like I am working against a machine. The machine is working WITH ME. I don't know about the PR one.
Best of luck!
