Re: Do I Need to Revise My Settings?
My previous settings were 20 and 12 and I reduced them today to 12 and 8 so I was wondering whether that was the proper thing to do or should I have left them at 20 and 12.

Re: Mask leaking when sleeping on my back
I have had tremendous success taping my mouth closed using 3M Micropore tape. My leaks were reduced and AHI number dropped from mid teens to below 2.0 and one night was 0.0 The tape does stick very well and takes some effort to peel it off every morning but we’ll worth it. I wear a full face mask an...

Do I Need to Revise My Settings?
74 year old male diagnosed 6 years ago with severe sleep apnea. I have a PR Dreamstation Auto BiPAP which I have used faithfully every day. I use a Quattro Air FFM. I am a mouth breather and recently started to tape my mouth shut using 3M Micropore tape. My AHI dropped immediately from mid teens to ...

Second Try at Mouth Tape - Excellent Results
A week ago I posted about the success I had trying Azazar X-style mouth tape. After a few days of success I found the tape was not sufficiently adhering and I returned my purchase. I then purchased 3M Micropore 2” wide tape with a dispenser. Each roll is 10 yards. This tape has excellent all night a...

Re: Used Mouth Tape for First Time - Amazing Results
Well after the first few successful nights this brand of mouth tape didn’t continue to be sufficient as the adhesion was not strong enough. I returned the Azazar X-type strips and purchased the 3M Micropore 2” wide tape and had amazing results every night, AHI of 1.0 and 1.5 which is what I want. Te...

Re: anyone try somnifix
I have just started using Azazar Mouth Strips which I found on Amazon, $25 Cdn for 60 - 25 cents each.
Amazing results my first 2 nights, AHI of 4.6 and 3.5 versus mid to high teens previously.
I am a bad mouth breather and use FFM Quattro Air and RemZzzs too.

Used Mouth Tape for First Time - Amazing Results
I have been using my PR Dreamstation BiPAP and Quattro Air FFM for exactly 6 years and have rarely been able to achieve nightly AHI lower than the recommended 5.0 Most nights I am mid teens or even higher. I use RemZzzs each night. I am a chronic mouth breather and thought that is most of my problem...

Re: In Canada??? Is a 2nd Sleep Study Required to Replace Original Machine
Googled the answer to my replacement question as follows: “The clients can replace the equipment after five years if the equipment is no longer working and cannot be repaired. CPAP paid by OHIP will contribute towards the cost. For this the client needs a new form signed by the doctor to prove that ...

In Canada??? Is a 2nd Sleep Study Required to Replace Original Machine
I had a Sleep Study done a little over 5 years ago and the Doctor prescribed a PR DreamStation Auto BiPAP. After many difficult months getting used to the machine I never gave up and now have absolutely no issues whatsoever. Pugsy was my saviour and I shall be ever grateful to her for her continuing...

Plugged Nose with Nasal Mask
I have a Full Face Mask and the last few evenings I went to bed with plugged nostrils and had to breathe through my mouth. What happens in this situation to those users of nasal face masks? I presume they must have to breathe through their mouth and do without the CPAP therapy. Is that correct? I fi...

Re: ready to quit! HELP!!!
Bissie711 This process takes weeks and months to get comfortable with depending on your “Worry Index” In the first month or so, I couldn’t get used to the machine and mask and the leaks, every night I dreaded as I couldn’t turn my brain off and get to sleep. You absolutely need to stick with it and ...

Re: PR DreamStation Mask Type Setting
Thank you for the compilation of posts.
I see that Pugsy is of the opinion that it is insignificant consequence as to which Mask Type is being used so I will leave it as is.

PR DreamStation Mask Type Setting
Is there anywhere to determine what setting one is to select for the various types of Face Masks not made by Philips Respironics.
Secondly, how do the different types impact the calculations?
I utilize a FFM Quattro Air and I leave the DreamStation Auto BiPAP on Setting # 1

Re: almost immediate ramp up to high pressure
I had a similar issue with my 18 month old PR DreamStation Auto BiPAP. Pugsy gave me the same excellent advice and it was replaced on warranty. Contact your supplier ASAP. I had to pay shipping both ways as I am from Canada but problem arose in USA on our vacation. Sure glad I followed Pugsy's advice.
