Re: Has your quality of life improved much after using CPAP machines?
For the first few years after I got used to CPAP it was very good, lots of improvements in energy, mood, attitude, quality of life. I have no idea how bad things could have got had I not used CPAP. I just know that I was beginning to get some very odd heart arrhythmias which thankfully have not deve...

Re: COVID 19, CPAP, Ventilator MEGA THREAD...everything go here please
Thanks McSleepy for your very kind words. Recently it has emerged that a variant of Covid19 has been identified in the exact area (Nelson Mandela Bay in the Eastern Cape Province) where my family lives in South Africa. It is similar to the UK variant, however the South African variant would appear n...

Thanks so much Pugsy. I appreciate your kindness. It means a great deal. It has been a horrible few weeks. I have barely slept or eaten, just waiting for updates from the other side of the world. My mom was finally admitted into hospital last Thursday and was unconscious. The diagnosis was severe lu...

Re: COVID 19, CPAP, Ventilator MEGA THREAD...everything go here please
Thanks McSleepy, My parents both tested positive this morning. I think the worst part is seeing the health care system buckle under the sheer volume of cases in my parents city. Doctors simply can't keep up, contact tracing is non existent, and patients are left to sink or swim. My nephew just let m...

Re: COVID 19, CPAP, Ventilator MEGA THREAD...everything go here please
The past two weeks have been such a shocker for me. My nephew who lives in South Africa got Covid19. He only just turned 30. He has been extremely ill with it, and unfortunately he infected my sister whom he lives with and also his boss and his bosses wife who work with him. Everyone is very ill ind...

Re: Pill for Sleep Apnea
A few years ago when I was really struggling to get used to CPAP I would have gladly taken a pill to treat my OSA. Now, not a chance. Two reasons: First, I don't want to add daily medication with all the potential side effects and harms. Second, how would I measure my nightly AHI and see if I am bei...

Re: How Often Do You All Look at Your OSCAR Stats?
I used to do the daily ritual of downloading and checking in Sleepyhead for the first couple of years but now all I do is check the AHI and leak rate on my machine each morning. My AHI is low, my sleep is good. Nothing to see really so I don't. Maybe I would if there was an anomaly. (AHI over 4 whic...

I am sorry to read that you have been so sick DreamStalker! What an ordeal you have been through.
I am also very concerned about the news regarding Sheriff.

Re: OT: Regular posters who have not been around for a while
I especially noticed the absence of Zoocrew and Sheriff because they posted almost daily and then abruptly stopped, not so much tapering off as much as just overnight, no posts. I am hoping that they will return to posting here sometime. Sheriff has a very welcoming and humorous approach and certain...

OT: Regular posters who have not been around for a while
Hi folks, Although I am not a frequent poster here, I regularly read the current threads and usually visit several times a week to catch up on what is going on in the land of Cpaptalk. :) I notice the absence of some posters and am wondering if anyone has heard from Grace, Sheriff and ZooCrew? I hop...
