Re: Almost 1 week using but so tired from lack of sleep.
It will improve...I had so much anxiety that I never thought it would work. When I finally slept 2 hours with it on(which is about max because of BPH anyway), I knew I could beat it. I tried a very low dose of melatonin(1 mg) and that helped some. If I was really uptight, I took a 3 mg. I've been lo...

Re: How long does a CPAP machine last?
Perfect time for me to ask a question I've had...Does it matter if I turn my Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset off each morning after I get up? I have not been because it shuts down automatically, but if that is impacting "run hours", maybe I should be???? Resmed machines do for a period of time after you...

Re: How long does a CPAP machine last?
If a machine reaches about 15000 run hours, it has probably met its design criteria. It may last longer but that should give you a very rough idea of what to expect. Perfect time for me to ask a question I've had...Does it matter if I turn my Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset off each morning after I get ...

Re: Service connected disability, Sleep Apnea connection
To respond to all of you as I responded to the his PM, my comments were not intended to be derogatory or demeaning to him. Just a fact of life of life in the Army from 66-70...But I do attribute many of my sleeping issues that go well beyond CPAP from military service. Like someone said, some people...

Re: Service connected disability, Sleep Apnea connection
Can I blame all of my breathing problems on all of the cigarette smoke in those WWII barracks? And the fuel oil heat in the 7 man tents? The burner usually clogged up in the middle of the night and it we'd sleep until we were being choked from the fumes... Not to mention being awakened in the middle...

Re: I'm brand new to this and scared.
I think you're getting some "incorrect info" on here about the Resmed Airsense 10. Not sure why???? I have the same CPAP and it does have a card, and is data capable...Maybe not with these software programs these guys are using, but you can get all you need from My Air. Have you checked the machine ...

Re: Newbie trying to pick a mask
Take a good look at the Resmed Airsense F10 full face mask. I didn't like the full mask during sleep studies either, but this is very light and you'll adjust pretty quickly. I had the same issues for the first week or so. Dry mouth, sore nose...Used some Biotene and some non petroleum skin lotion or...

Re: Facial hair and face masks
I wear an F10 full face mask...I've shaved mine off for the time being...Still itches under the mask. I'm a mouth breather and if I'm sick, my throat gets sore if I'm mouth breathing. Once the nasal passages clear up, I'm ok.

Careful with the "junk in the back"...That's what my cardiologist told me after failing to tolerate the mask in two titration attempts after being diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea. Well, now my back hurts so bad that I can't sleep on my back much anyway. More comfortable on the side, but that did...

Re: How can I tell if I've put on my Provent strips correctly?
I never found any advantage to those at all...I'd wake up with it stuck everywhere except my nose..Lost one for 2 days and finally discovered it stuck to my back in the shower. But I didn't have a breathing problem with it, although it did take a night or two to get used to. They might assist with s...

Re: Newbie - considering AirSense 10 purchase - No WiFi ???
Why do you need to "read all of that detail"? MyAir was mentioned and gives me everything I need, "usage time, leakage, average events/hour, times that the mask was removed, and a composite score"...If my Doc needs that other info, I take the machine and he reads the card. Dang, I'm a CPA, but I'm n...

Re: Seriously need help, DH says my cpap blows on him at night!
The F10 vents through the hose where it connects with the mask...2 small outlets...they bug me sometimes because it blows directly on my eyes...Having had cataract surgery in both eyes, I'm prone to dry eyes and sometimes it gets so bad at night, I put drops in both eyes. Hard to believe the mask is...

Re: On the verge of Quitting
Thanks for all the great responses. I'll start first with a very basic question: What constitutes mask leaks? ONe has to exhale and I'm not sure where that goes. Under the mask? Seems like every time I move my head, I hear a leak. I can adjust it OK so long as I don't move, but that won't last long...

Re: Second sleep study
My first study was done in a lab. I'm going to have a new sleep study, but this time in my own bed. My doctor said this will give her all the information she needs and there is no need to go to a lab. We are trying to determine why after many months I continue to take my mask off during the night a...

My mouth is frequently dry as I'm a mouth breather. ... There's not much I can do except make sure I have a covered mug with a bendable straw in the bedroom with water in it. Orajel Dry Mouth Relief Gel works great if you know how to apply it. http://www.drugstore.com/orajel-dry-mouth-relief-gel-su...
