I see NY ordered 3000 biPAP machines from Philips. They have received 750 of them so far.

Re: Anyone else having trouble with Dream Mapper?
For sometime I've been using DreamMapper on a daily basis via Bluetooth to my Samsung tablet. It gives be mask fit and a breakdown of AHI which is all I really need. Unless something appears to be going wrong I only download data to SleepyHead every month or so.

Re: I'M wanting to get away from dreammapper, any advice?
I use DreamMapper daily and it is very helpful as it gives me a breakdown of my AHI, hours used and mask fit. I do use SleepyHead but unless something seems to be going wrong I only download the data about once a month.

Re: Bipap causing arrythmias
Perhaps the arrhythmias are occurring while you are sleeping and if the Bipap wakes you up you become aware of the arrhythmias. Do you get immediate feedback from the loop recorder to correlate the arrhythmias frequency to using or not using the Bipap? I’ve had both the temporary and implantable loo...

Re: Colonoscopy & BiPap
I received a letter from my local clinic with an appointment for a 5 year follow up colonoscopy. I was surprised to see they had a list of medical conditions that if I had one I was to notify them . On the list was I using a CPAP or BIPAP or been diagnosed with sleep apnea. When I called they said t...

Re: PR Dreamstation with modem, anyone?
Even if you don't use Bluetooth once a day the Dreamstation will transmit the data via the modem so you can see it on DreamMapper. You can even set the time of this transmission by forcing the transmission. This will only happen if your DME is still monitoring you for compliance. Mine isn't so my c...

Re: Going to be needing knee surgery soon... might lose my CPAP
I have knee surgery scheduled for in a few weeks and the hospital insisted that I bring my CPAP machine. This was even after I a told them that my sleep apnea is only on the mild range and I would be fine without the CPAP for a few nights.

Re: Apnea worse with full face
When I changed from an Amara View mask to a DreamWear nasal mask by AHI dropped from an average of about 3 to less than 1. My guess was that the Amara put a little pressure on my jaw moving slightly back. Since a dental device that holds the jaw slightly forward can lower AHI it seems that moving it...

Re: Just had split sleep study, went bad! Questions.
Many people ask their doctors for an Ambien when testing as it's an unnatural setting for anyone to try and sleep in, and it should relax you better than you've been so far. Unfortunately some doctors like mine refuse to order a sleep aide like Ambien as it might somehow compromise the test results...

Re: OT: Colonoscopy Prep
Being in a high risk group I've had 3 colonoscopies. Each time the prep was 2 rounds of 15 OTC senna tablets taken about 8 hours apart. This worked fine. Can't imagine anything could have emptied be out more than those tablets did.

Re: 2 masks, comparible leak rates, different AHI numbers...why?
When I switched from an Amara View mask to a DreamWear nasal mask my AHI dropped from about 3 to under 1. My best guess is that the Amara View was putting just a little pressure on my jaw and causing it to move back slightly resulting in more OA's.

Re: dreamstation and dreamwear
I use the DreamWear mask and had similar results. I started with a ffm and got my AHI down to about 3. After switching to the DreamWear my AHI dropped to less than 1 and even get an occasion 0. Leakage has not been a big problem as looking at the last 30 days there were only 2 nights where I experie...

Re: PR Dreamstation Preheat feature
Using the preheat is one of personal preference. I don't like the feeling of oppressive humidity the preheat gives me so I don't use it. I keep water in the tank but only use the heater in the winter when the air becomes very dry.

Re: Dreamstation Backlight Settings?
The DreamStation has an ambient light sensor on it to adjust the brightness of the display depending on room brightness. On my initial DreamStation this worked great and the display turned on but didn't light up the room when I got up in the night. It also made it easier on the eyes if for some reas...

Re: Titration Study Failure--What to do?
After my failed titration test the Neurologist with the sleep lab suggested another try at the titraton test. Fortunately the doctor associated with the sleep lab nixed that idea and prescribed an APAP (Dreamstation) with which we quickly determined the correct pressure rage. Currently my AHI is ave...
