Pituitary Surgery and CPAP

I may possibly have to have pituitary surgery to remove a tumor (Cushing's disease) and they go in through your nasal cavity to reach the tumor. I was wondering if anyone here has had this type of surgery(I saw some older posts but nothing recent) and how long until you were able to use your CPAP ag...

Re: Wrist band sleep trackers

I've researched wrist fitness trackers because I wanted to monitor my slow wave sleep (since before CPAP I got zero slow wave sleep, sadly) and I've read that the wrist fitness trackers monitor your movement and how still you are. That is not the same as monitoring your brain waves. You can track yo...

Re: Please help me I am so fustrated and alone

You are in the right place and will not be alone. I personally do not have that machine, so I can be of little help. Many others do you it and they will respond. find the link here or search the net for sleephead software and installing(free). If you don't have a SD card reader on your computer get...

Re: Please help me I am so fustrated and alone

Yes, I've had the same problems. My starting pressure was too low, my upper pressure was too low, and I could not adjust to any CPAP mask so my AHIs would sometimes show 30 events. My AHI before CPAP was 42. I starting using the Airfit P10 mask and it was a rough start, but once I got used to it, my...

Re: Can CPAP cause depression/anxiety?

I just wanted to come on here and chime in. I always felt sad (pre-CPAP). Once I was diagnosed and then went on the CPAP, I suffered severe insomnia. I started CBT therapy which seems to have made the insomnia worse. I was told if I couldn't sleep, to get out of bed. Well, I have now realized that I...

Pressure in nasal cavity and forehead

As several of you know, over the past few weeks I've had a tough time adapting to CPAP. But I am adapting. I've followed the suggestions and advice of several members of this board which have helped me immensely. Last night for the first time I decided to give the Airfit P10 pillows a chance. Previo...

Re: I woke up startled in the middle of a dream last night

It's interesting I told my mother this morning I only slept 2 hours last night. Then I looked at my report. I slept a lot more than 2 hours. It was fragmented but I can see by my breathing (I think) that I slept again after that awakening as well as before. I thought I had been awake the entire nigh...

I woke up startled in the middle of a dream last night

Since I have gone on CPAP, I have never remembered the dreams I have when I am on CPAP. When I was using CPAP on and off at the beginning, I would remember the dreams ONLY if I had them when the mask was off. Last night, for the first time, I was apparently laying on my back and I guess in REM which...

Re: 18 events an hour bad?

Hi, I had to see a psychologist, psychiatrist and take a leave of absence from work to make this work. WindCPAP gave me some advice: do not ever sleep without your mask. So if you can't sleep, get up and do something else. When you're sleepy, try again. But don't ever get in bed without it. Eventual...

Thank you. You are right. I've done before and I'll do it again. Thank you for your continued support!

Re: I thought I couldn't fall asleep

Hi thank you. I had not thought of it that way. Do you agree that switching masks in the middle of the night is a big no no? I keep doing it. None is comfortable (right now) as you said. I don't have to be back to work until January 4th...so I presume at some point my body will just pass out from ex...
