Re: Any mouth breathers not using full face?

I began my CPAP journey in mid-January of this year. I use the Philips DreamWear mask with a ResMed AirSense 10 Auto and love this combo. I started mouth breathing in my sleep as a young child and I have ever since. Now that I am using the mask, I occasionally wake up with my mouth open. But for the...

Re: Time for New Machine -- Overthinking it?

Howard, I didn't read the whole thread, but I think it would be an oversight not to strongly consider the Resmed A10 AutoSet. It is my first and only machine (received in January), but I absolutely love it with zero complaints. I chose the Respironics DreamWear mask to go along with it and I don't t...

Re: Newbie intro and first month impressions

Oh, and my water reservoir slides out rather easily, but maybe it is because I have large hands to fully grip the machine with my left and put the reservoir out with my right. As for cleaning, I only clean the "pillow" portion of the DreamWear mask with soap and water each morning. I use distilled w...

Re: Newbie intro and first month impressions

Hey Violet, I'm a relative newbie, too. I started my therapy in January. I don't feel the air pressure either, which is nice. Your nasal pillow mask sounds like a bit of a hassle compared to the one I'm using: the Respironics DreamWear. The mask interface simply rests under the nose, but there are n...

Accidentally placed SD card in PC without locking the card

I have a new Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet that I received two months ago. I have been monitoring my CPAP therapy with Sleepyhead. I normally lock the SD card, but today I absentmindedly placed the SD card into the computer without locking the card first. After loading the data, I realized my mistake. ...

Re: Loving the DreamWear except for serious hair matting issue!

Yeah, I had the occipital strap adjusted too tight with the velcro loops and it was tugging the frame posteriorly. I had tightened the strap when I was experimenting with a wash cloth over my head, haha. I have relaxed the tension in the occipital strap and the frame is better positioned now. http:/...

Re: Loving the DreamWear except for serious hair matting issue!

That's the thing though, Lolly. I shower in the morning and my hair still stays flattened out, no matter how much I try to shape it back. I started using a new night cap two nights ago and my hair seems to be getting better. I will update in a week.

Re: Loving the DreamWear except for serious hair matting issue!

Roger, what brand of skullcap did you choose? I didn't see any in the hat/clothing section at the Walmart I visited. I ordered a Halo skullcap from Amazon and it fits way too tight.

Thanks for the tips guys. I will try a wash cloth tonight and then look for a good skull cap.

Re: Loving the DreamWear except for serious hair matting issue!

Hey Palerider, I looked up the TAP PAP. That mask still has the hose attachment in the front of the face. It just directs the hose up over the top of the head.

Anyway, I can only work with one mask for now, the DreamWear. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Re: What mask for mouth breather

I was a mouth breather before CPAP. I use the DreamWear nasal mask and my mind quickly adapted to keeping my mouth shut throughout the night because I can consistently breathe through my nose now.

Hey Palerider, I would love to learn about these other masks. I am new to the CPAP world, so the DreamWear mask is the only one I have seen so far.

Loving the DreamWear except for serious hair matting issue!

I am new to the CPAP world, with my first night on January 19th of this year. The experience has been much more comfortable than I ever anticipated. I adjusted to CPAP after the first night. I love the DreamWear because it is the only mask on the market with the hose attachment at the top of the hea...

Re: my CPAP and surgery story (MMA)

Songhurst, I was thinking of the cosmetic side of the surgery more as a positive side effect of fixing the bite or upper air way issues--the main reasons why people choose to go through with this type of major surgery. How about sensation inside your mouth? Do you have scar tissue on the roof of you...
