Re: Long narrow face with a bigger nose, pressure 15-18, permanent indentations from mask?
I buy 2 cushions every 3-4 months and kind of alternate between them to reduce wear. Not sure about the brand new cushion, maybe mine are too old, but usually the memory foam rips away from the plastic/rubbery lining when they get super worn. I've just ordered a new one so we will see. I'll try and ...

Re: Long narrow face with a bigger nose, pressure 15-18, permanent indentations from mask?
I normally breathe through my nose during the day, but when I lie down it becomes harder. I have a deviated septum. But the problem is part of my blockage without CPAP occurs with the tongue pressing against the soft palette enough to close my nasal airway, so yes while lieing down I always end up b...

I am also open to changing masks, I wonder what any of you would recommend for that kind of facial profile?

The nasal pads dont help. I am trying a cloth liner but I still woke with large imprints.

Long narrow face with a bigger nose, pressure 15-18, permanent indentations from mask?
I don't know what to do about this. I've been using CPAP for almost 5 years, but in the past few months. I notice the line indentations I get from the mask are now becoming permanent and they don't go away, I'm even getting ridges that look don't even look like natural wrinkles but like a ridge of r...

Re: What is the exact criteria for SleepyHead apnea and other events and is it same sleep clinics use??
Wow great information! I didn't think to check the manual (which I lost long ago heh). This all makes sense. No, the definitions used by machine manufacturers and home-use software differ from the definitions sleep clinics/centers use That seems awfully weird, I know you need a EEG to detect RERAs a...

Re: What is the exact criteria for SleepyHead apnea and other events and is it same sleep clinics use??
Hmm but that's what the sleepyhead info provides you for when setting up custom events. It mentions FL and duration, not tidal volume. Wouldn't the flow be limited if the tidal volume is down?

What is the exact criteria for SleepyHead apnea and other events and is it same sleep clinics use??
Just curious, I put some custom events to track on my sleepyhead playing with flow limit and duration. But I can't find anywhere what airsense 10 or sleepyhead tracks by default for apnea, hypopnea, etc? Like is it 25% FL for 10 seconds? or 50% FL or what? And is there anyway to put more than 2 cust...

Re: Got restless legs now and can still feel my throat closing.
That post was very helpful thank you. I sometimes sleep on my back and do notice it more then. I didn't consider the epiglottis, I considered that but for the adenoids. It really feels like even if I keep increasing my pressure, it can't prevent it, so hopefully it's something like that and is fixab...

Got restless legs now and can still feel my throat closing.
Well been 2 years on CPAP, thought I somewhat restored my functioning in my life. It certainly improved more than without the mask, but still wasn't great. I just dealt. Now I feel like I've lost all progress. I've developed restless legs now which makes me sleep even worse and on top of that I can ...

Re: Almost 2 years in, still not doing well, what more can I do?
There's nothing, I don't have periodic limb movement, I don't take any medications, I've had tons of tests, ultrasound of various parts of my body, all kinds of bloodwork including thyroid and other common causes of low energy, even a brain MRI, everything is otherwise normal. There was a period com...

Almost 2 years in, still not doing well, what more can I do?
I have acclimated completely to the CPAP, I use a full face mask, I've got no problem using it and use it every night, but I still don't sleep very well and I still am tired every single day, yet my AHI is quite low, always 3 or less. What more can I do? If I had to guess I'd say I'm having a bunch ...

Re: Anyone got bad cardiovascular health from this?
Holy, this is somewhat right on the money. So far I've got a "mild" diagnosis of 1000 PVC per day. Doc said he doesn't want to give me anything for it but if it gets really bothersome take some metropolol as needed. But he also did do an ultrasound and Echo of my heart and said there is nothing stru...

Re: Anyone got bad cardiovascular health from this?
I apparently move a lot in my sleep, tons of spasms, Sorry, I haven't followed your case, but did you have an in-lab sleep study? What did it show as far as "spasms"? Well nothing, no restless legs or anything else, but my in lab was in 2012, my doctor would only give me a home one last year becaus...

Re: Anyone got bad cardiovascular health from this?
Wow thanks so much for that analysis. really helped me to understand what I am looking at better. I have a lot of sleep/wake junk. I often have light dream sleep too on the mask, where I am dreaming uncontrollable crazy dreams, but I am aware I am dreaming. This mask has been causing my new problems...
