Re: Resmed N30i Cushion change in Material?

You can use any mask with a regular CPAP machine. The only limitations on masks is some of the small travel machines require special masks when using them.

Re: Confused about the recall

They probably are getting some end-user names from DMEs. And we know how accurate DMEs are in their operation. You're probably right about that. We got them through different DME companies. I used a local company for mine. When it was time to get her machine, the local company had lost th...

Re: Confused about the recall

My wife and I have both had Resmed machines since we first started treatment. She received a letter from Philips advising her of the recall. I don't know how they ever got her name since neither one of has ever used a Philips machine.

Re: cleaning routine

This topic comes up quite often. We all clean to the level we are comfortable with. I normally clean our masks, strap pads and water reservoirs every two weeks. Some people clean everything daily, others never clean or clean only when they remember to do it. When I first started, I was very diligent...

Re: Medicare and the CPAP Recall

Medicare no longer allows a new machine every five years. They will only authorize a new machine if there is something wrong with the machine and the cost to repair is too high.

Re: Did you get your flu vaccine?

We always get ours every year. When I was in the military, it was mandatory to get the shot. I simply kept it up after retiring from the military. We have gotten the high dose shot for several years, now with out any problems.

Re: daily tub cleaning?

I finally cleaned our equipment on Monday. It has been over a month since I last cleaned it. I normally clean our equipment every two weeks. I never clean the hoses. We simply add enough distilled water to top off the water reservoirs before going to bed. They only get emptied when I clean them.

Re: Difference between AirFit F20 and "For Her" version

The frame is the same size for both models. The headgear on the for her model is the same size and the small headgear for the regular F20 mask. My wife and I both use the F20. She has the for her frame and a regular headgear. I keep her in the for her frame so I can easily identify which mask frame ...

Re: OT: Super Froggy--cancer, part 2

I bought his calendar every year, and kept the last one for several years before I finally got rid of it. I looked through it many time and now wish I had kept it longer.

Re: Questions from a bearded newbie

I started my beard two and a half months before I retired from the military in 1983. I shaved it off in 2015 so I could use my machine. It felt funny the first few days, but I don't really miss it. At my age (79), my health is more important than some facial hair.

Re: Do mask choices matter?

I have lost track of how many different masks I have tried, but it is around 20. Every time I see a mask that looks interesting, I purchase one and try it. I have returned some for refunds, and have passed others on to people who wanted to try them or people who could not afford new masks. I keep co...

The only way to know for sure is to try it. I have made numerous changes to my wife's machine and she has never noticed. Start off with EPR of 2 rather than 3.

Re: Help with Pressure Settings for New APAP User

Baby steps, but still steps. The only thing I can offer at this time is encouragement. It sometimes take a while to get things regulated where it will work. When my wife started, she had a hard time getting the pressure right. We were seeing the sleep lab every two weeks for quite a while. It took ...
