Re: sinus infections
Several years ago, I had a similar problem with back to back sinus infections. My doctor referred me to an allergy specialist. Once i got the allergies under control, the sinus problems got much less. Since having a deviated septum corrected, seldom have more than one sinus infection a year.

Re: mask fit with beard
When I did my first titration study, I had a full beard. They used a mask liner under the mask and got a good seal. I run pretty high pressure (20-25 cm H2O) and opted to just shave because it is much easier to get a good seal. If your pressure isn't too high, the beard may not be a problem if you u...

Re: New Obama Care waste.
I was notified by my DME that it was time for me to pick up supplies. I told them I only wanted a humidifier tank and new headgear since I have plenty of cushions and filters available. They said they did not have the headgear available, but would order it for me and send it to my home. When I got h...

Re: Weird Problem for Me
I use the simplus mask and put a piece of moleskin on my nose at night. I had a problem with a sore nose with a mask I had used prior to the simplus, and my DME recommended the moleskin. She said her husband uses it every night on his nose to keep it from getting sore. So far, it hasn't interfered w...

Re: Encouragement needed
Honestly, it will get better. If you need to get up to go to the bathroom during the night, leave the mask on and just remove the hose from the mask. That way, all you have to do is slip the hose back on at start the machine. This is what I do if I need to get up during the night. Since starting tre...

Re: Wireless SD Card Data-transfer for ResScan / SH
The SD Card you leave in the computer will have a DATALOG file and a SETTINGS file. Copy these two files to your computer (I copy it to my desktop), then copy them from the computer onto the RESMED SD Card.

Flashpap will work for the Air Curve 10 if you select the Air Sense 10 section on the drop-down menu. That is what I did, and it works just fine.

Re: Bed wedge pillow
From personal experience, using a wedge pillow won't help. When I had my sleep study, I used a regular hospital bed because I sleep on an adjustable bed due to other medical problems. With my head elevated, my AHI was 49 and my blood oxygen desaturated to 63% before they put me on supplemental oxygen.

Re: My sleep apnea cured?
Thomas, I wish you well with the results of your surgery. I opted for the surgery several years ago because my job required frequent travel. The CPAP machines then were much larger than they are now, and would have been hard to carry on an airplane. I was already carrying a nebulizer to treat my ast...

Re: Best Full Face Mask For High Pressure Bipap
I have tried nasal pillows and would like to be able to use them, but every time I fall asleep, my mouth opens up and I have massive air leaks. I have tried several different chin straps, taping my mouth shut, etc., but I have not found anything that works that I can sleep with.

Re: FFM Issues
I use a piece of moleskin on my nose at night to keep the mask from irritating the skin. My DME recommended it after I had a problem with one mask that caused an open sore on my nose. She said her husband used it every night to protect his nose.

I use the F&P Simplus as recommended by my DME. She said this is one of the few that will handle high pressure (over 20 cm H2O).

Re: Introduction - Newbie here...
Welcome to another Charlie. I have been on a BIPAP machine since May of this year. I have an Air Curve S10 VAUTO. This is an auto machine which essentially means I can set a range of pressure and let the machine determine the actual pressure I need. When I did the titration study, they could not fin...

Re: Interpreting Leaks Charts
The "L per min." is liters of air leaked per minute. The 95 % line shows the amount of leakage was at this level or lower 95% of the time. The median is the average leak rate for the night. I would recommend you get sleepyhead software in addition. It will show your statistics as a line graph that w...
