Re: Need Help interpreting OSCAR data
Thanks for your answers. Another reason could be I eat and snack late due to anxiety and have gained 20 pounds in the last year or two. BMI is now 33.5. I sleep from around 11 pm to 7 am. I let myself sleep as long as I want, with option beginning at 9pm, when I am too tired to sit up any longer. Ev...

Re: Need Help interpreting OSCAR data
before midnight I may be getting up because I'm not sleepy yet. I take Lexapro, Modafinil (for daytime fatigue), Lorazepam (for anxiety) and Olanzapine (helps me get more time asleep in the early-morning). I know some or all of these medications affect sleep architecture. I stopped Modafinil entirel...

Need Help interpreting OSCAR data
I have been using CPAP at night for several years with no improvement. Daytime fatigue has become worse; my activities are more limited. I use the AirFit P10 mask because it seems to be the only one I can tolerate. It touches my face in the least way and it can be removed and put back on with one ha...

Re: hi Shore Snorer
Yeah surely with an optimized PAP treatment the outcome is invariably natural, boundless all day energy. No more zoning out , head dragging, yawning, lethargic pace and brain fog. Mind clear as a bright blue sky, and as sharp as a tack. Body instantly responsive , ready to tackle any task.

Hi Shore Snorer. Maybe a mod can push you a message since you have private messages disabled.
I see you have posted once this year but there is a nine year gap in your activity. How's your sleep doing these days? Are you still taking modafinil? Still CPAP only or tried other treatments?

sleep quality with stimulants?
I just went to look over my old PSG reports, I know they are but one moment in time, and while AHI is greatly improved, the sleep architecture data struck me. By the time of the second study, I am taking a prescription stimulant (modafinil) morning and noon time, and I notice the data shows huge swi...

OSCAR results - what should I try?
I got 8 hours of CPAP time last night, so I decided to check data and post here in case there might be some suggestions. Should I increase the max pressure to 20?

Off topic - Medicare fraud?
My mother got a solicitation call for free ankle and knee braces, which presumably her doctor wanted to send to her (they knew her doctor's name). My mother backed out of the process as we educated her about it. However, they still billed Medicare $800 for 2 braces but did not send anything. Anyone ...

Re: CPAP machine as a respirator for DIY projects
Thanks chunkyfrog. You have a good memory.
I wouldn't trust using the machine used for sleep for DIY purposes, because I'm sensitive to lingering odors (like painted walls, etc) so it's too risky.

Re: CPAP machine as a respirator for DIY projects
I did a little more inquiry. seems like the professional system is called an "Atmosphere supplied respirator"
The benefit is that I already have a face mask with a good fit compared to the work respirators/masks which are one-size-fits-all and not easy to get fit.

Re: CPAP machine as a respirator for DIY projects
Clean air to the machine is assumed from a window or adjacent room. I know I can use a 10 ft hose, perhaps it can be extended even longer.

CPAP machine as a respirator for DIY projects
I wonder if its possible to use an CPAP machine (maybe an old one) with a long hose and a mask as simple protection from vapors for indoor DIY projects involving cleaning chemicals (such as paint stripper) to protect ones' lungs. The machine could be set up at a window or in an adjacent room with ho...
