Re: Respironics Dreamwear mask - Quick review, pics and a tip!

I tried this last night. It does work, but is not a perfect fit. If you compare the two connectors side by side, the gap between the flanges is much narrower on the Resmed, and the outer flange is smaller diameter than the Dreamwear. These two things make it very easy for the Resmed connector to pu...

Re: Respironics Dreamwear mask - Quick review, pics and a tip!

Pretty cool project! Its alot more comfortable with the other masks hose connected? It connects/ pops right in? Yes, that's right! I think it's a fluke of a design coincidence as both masks are by different brands. The Swift FX hose is much lighter and more flexible than the S9 CPAP machine hose so...

Re: Respironics Dreamwear mask - Quick review, pics and a tip!

Hi Physician, 1. No pressure on my teeth, but there was some pressure on my upper lip. Just enough to feel something's pressing against it, but not painful or uncomfortable. 2. I don't hear anything from the nosepiece, or the swivel vent for that matter. I suppose there is some noise, but nothing ir...

Re: Respironics Dreamwear mask - Quick review, pics and a tip!

Hey Pugsy thanks so much for collecting the data. That's amazing! I might try to jury rig flexi-hose from somewhere with the original Dreamwear swivel to avoid the leaks you've identified. That said, I can't tell at this point if the leaks affect treatment. I'm new to CPAP treatment in any case so t...

Re: Respironics Dreamwear mask - Quick review and a tip!

Thank you for the clear closeup photos. I now know what the pillow opening looks like. I never got that from the product pages. When my DME acquires them, it will be my next mask. My pleasure! I realised that the earlier photos were too large so they didn't display in full. I've since resized them....

Re: Respironics Dreamwear mask - Quick review and a tip!

I will try to play with it later and see if the leak numbers change when I know that for sure there are no masks leaks. I think that using the PR S1, that I have, might be a better way to evaluate the numbers because it reports total leak which includes the vent rate and it's the vent rate that we ...

Re: Respironics Dreamwear mask - Quick review and a tip!

[quote="Pugsy"]How much difference are you seeing in the leak numbers?[/quote\ It's between 25 and 40 with the Dreamwear. Mr Frowny face has come on twice. But most nights have been with Mr Smiley and leaks in the high teens to low 20s. It's been less a week since I put on the Swift FX swivel though...

Re: Respironics Dreamwear mask - Quick review and a tip!

I haven't seen the F & P Featherweight hose to compare it to the Swift FX short hose...but it will work for those that want a short hose. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/circadiance-sleepweaver-feather-weight-cpap-tube.html From what I hear it isn't quite as light or flexible as the Swift FX hose ...

Re: Respironics Dreamwear mask - Quick review and a tip!

So, starting at the swivel on the Dreamwear, you just popped it out and inserted the FX hose? Good job. Earl Edit: one more question. Doesn't the Dreamwear swivel have exhaust holes in it? Yes, that's pretty much what I did. The fit isn't as snug but it's still snug enough. Doesn't come loose with ...

Re: Respironics Dreamwear mask - Quick review and a tip!

Yes, I too wondered if the change in swivel has anything to do with the reported leaks. I originally reasoned it should be OK, since the Dreamwear mask swivel has a vent too, even if slightly different. I've had nights where leaks were within the threshold so it isn't a continuous problem. I'll moni...

Respironics Dreamwear mask - Quick review, pics and a tip!

Hello everyone, Just thought I'd post a quick review of the Dreamwear mask, as well as a tip on how to have a better experience with it. I'm a new CPAP user of just over a month. My CPAP machine is the ResMed S9, which is a real keeper. It was an easy purchase since it was so highly recommended. Unf...

Re: Hello from a Newbie

Hey Merlin, I'm from Singapore too. Just started on the CPAP. Everything here is over-priced! And the retailer the hospital recommended isn't that helpful. The mask they recommended (the Philips Wisp) left a blister on my nose, and they had no solution. I've since switched to a Swift FX nasal pillow...

Re: Any CPAP users from Singapore?

Hello, I'm from Singapore too. I've only just started using a CPAP machine - it's been only a few weeks. The first few days were indeed quite uncomfortable. There were a few nights where I had to take the mask off. I guess this period of adjustment is unavoidable. I've have 2 suggests that have help...
