Re: Resmed: What not to clean with...And what I should use instead?
I meant “face “ to be in jest. I thought in my first post I made it clear it was my nasal passages. I’d rather not be too graphic, but my nasal passages are scabbed, bleeding, and raw. My Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist confirmed it was definitely related to the CPAP and nasal pillows. I’m so tired...

Re: Resmed: What not to clean with...And what I should use instead?
@palerider, the list was directly from ResMed. I’ve been really sick with this, and seeing an ENT for treatment! I spent a long time on the phone with them. The owners manuals recommend mild detergent for hose and tub, and mask is supposed to be washed with mild soap. I asked him about that discrepa...

Thank you for your suggestions, but in my case it really did matter which soap I used!

Re: Resmed: What not to clean with...And what I should use instead?
I'm 5 years too. I just looked at the manuals and although it says mild detergent for hose and tub, the mask and P-10 pillows are to be washed with mild soap. I still wonder what constitutes mild soap then. Dr. Bronner’s - Pure-Castile Liquid Soap? I'm scared to choose the wrong product now, conside...

Resmed: What not to clean with...And what I should use instead?
I am nursing a bad infection of both nasal mucosa because I thought I was using the appropriate cleaning product. I had been previously using Palmolive Free and Clear up to now, but read the Resmed recommendations which scared me enough to try another product. I used Softsoap with aloe (and Fresh Sc...

Re: Please help me troubleshoot
Thank you for your help, Pugsy! I did find someone to answer my question. She said, I think, it was because when I woke up and separated the hose from my mask, my air pressure was lower than the lower range set on my machine, and that caused it to continue blowing. She said it’s probably the mask, so...

Re: Please help me troubleshoot
Okay I'm caught up now. It took me a bit to understand. I'm concerned that the fault might be in the fact that I began using a room humidifier. I separated it at least 10 feet away from my CPAP, and it's a very gentle stream that dissipates quickly. Is that what broke it? It's unlikely that I will h...

Re: Please help me troubleshoot
Okay, I found my way into clinical settings and Smart Start is enabled. When I said the hose kept blowing, I didn't mean the very soft blowing it does intentionally, but a hard blow when separating the mask hose. What's still bothering me is the other symptom. Why am I getting a quiet wheeze from th...

Re: Please help me troubleshoot
Where do I find SmartStart? I can't find my notes for how to open up all the options on my unit.

Please help me troubleshoot
I use an Airsense 10, P10 mask, and Climateline tubing. I've recently noticed a very faint wheezing sound with the equipment when I breathe. And just this night, now the shutdown isn't working right. Normally I uncouple the hose from the mask and the hose blows air for a few seconds, then stops on i...

Re: Congestion: Please explain how room humidifier would help?
Thanks. I have kept humidity at 4 (out of 8 ) for years, concerned that I might get water in the pillows otherwise, or else risk using up the water in my reservoir, making it burn. I will try changing humidity at 5 tonight. Ugh, imagining keeping a humidifier clean on top of all the cleaning I do wi...

Congestion: Please explain how room humidifier would help?
I'm having congestion problems too, sometimes only just an hour after bedtime. Sometimes I wake up because I can't breathe, and sometimes I find my mask disconnected, assuming I've ripped it off my face when I can't breathe. Last night I used Afrin just to open my airway, but that's not an option th...

Re: Medicare requires that I answer questions before my next shipment
I'm surprised that people don't clean their hoses. Mine is heated, so with moisture inside, it's a good trap for mold. I'll try to conserve more.
Thanks for the input!

Medicare requires that I answer questions before my next shipment
I'm new to Medicare, but up to now I've been receiving automatic quarterly shipments of supplies, based on suggested usage. I was told by a nurse that respiratory waste is the nastiest kind, so I trash used supplies based on suggested length of use. Now with Medicare, they ask me if my hose is damag...
