Re: What a mess...

The lady I spoke to at Anthem was super wishy washy about the entire thing. She could provide no specifics, other then the fact it is required by Anthem and the payments were spread out over "10 or 11 months". I'm not talking to Apria today. I'll probably bite someone's head off. I downloaded the so...

Re: What a mess...

Who is your CURRENT insurance with? There is one insurance that I know that did a permanent rental of sorts. There could be others. Have you called up your insurance company to find out all the specifics? You don't want to ever rely on what a DME tells you about your insurance coverage. Number 1 th...

What a mess...

So I received a new machine a while back. My old machine was more than 5 years old (more on that in a moment). I went through Apria. I was under the assumption this was a replacement machine. I kept my original machine as a backup/secondary machine. I just found out today that it appears my machine ...

Does anyone have any personal stories on how much AHI goes up while drinking?
mine goes down, but I suspect that I don't make it into REM sleep.

Re: Excessive Timed Breaths

I would have to check, however, the settings haven't changed in forever and this problem does not happen every day. In addition, I went back 1 year (settings were exactly the same) and it never got close to that, although occasionally I'd have days where it spiked to 200+ events...maybe once a week ...

Excessive Timed Breaths

Using a BiPAP with ASV machine, specifically the Respironics System One BiPAP ASV I've been having SEVERE fatigue lately. I am about to go see a doctor about it, but i pulled my data into sleepyhead for the first time in months. It reported 584 timed breaths for 1 day. Is this normal? Could this be ...

Re: To Low Carb Purists – You Are Not Helping the Cause

Bacon, potatoes, and other foods are NOT bad for you. Without carbs, your body would starve. FYI I eat damn near no veggies, tons of pork, bacon, eggs, etc yet my blood work is always close to perfect. Great cholesterol, vitamins, etc. I inherited high blood pressure and sleep apnea. Posts that blam...

Re: Another DreamWear question

The mask expels air from the top of your head and your face. As a BIPAP ASV user I had to slightly tweak my settings to maintain record low AHI, but it is the best mask I have ever used by far.

Does anyone else...

...look forward to their CPAP/BIPAP/ASV machines? I do and it actually causes issues with my social life. I often find excuses to go home and go to bed whenever possible...even for a nap...just so I can fall asleep in the comforts of my machine. Note that I am 34 yrs old and use an ASV BIPAP thanks ...

Re: Dreamwear mask...

Just a quick followup. This mask has been AMAZING. I've had minor leaks (1% large leak rate), but my AHI has been good (0.2-2.5) despite the fact i am a side sleeper. Now that I know I can get it from Amazon, I don't have to deal with my Medical Supply company anymore (they never answer their phone ...

Re: Dreamwear mask...

Do you sleep on your side or back? I find it comfortable on my back, but very uncomfortable on my side. I have had mine for about 10 days now and cannot make it through a night before taking it off and putting on another mask. Make sure you have the right sizes for everything. Honestly I think a lo...

Re: Dreamwear mask...

Sorry, I took a couple days to get used to it. I sleep on both my sides as well as my back. It seemed to work pretty well for my sides and great on my back. While on my sides it leaked a bit, but I was able to tweak it and make the leaks stop. I have to do that with my Wisp mask since it leaks. I ha...

Dreamwear mask...

Just bought one on Amazon for $70. It's pretty amazing though I haven't slept with it yet (same day delivery in Nashville) The exact link I found it at (was on another forum) is http://amzn.to/1Nce0go . Didn't need a prescription. Will update this after a full nights rest. Note to readers that I hav...

Re: Alleviating Stubborn Nasal Congestion/Dryness

I know what you mean! I take 2 nasal sprays and an allergy pill and it STILL takes about 30-45 minutes with my machine set to a humidity level of 5 to open up my nose (75% of the time it's closed off). My ENT told me (after me telling him i believe i have sleep apnea) to see a sleep specialist, who ...

Re: HELP! Something has changed...

One more thing to try, wait laying down for 5minutes before you put on your mask. You could be out of breath.
