Re: Trying to adjust while following insurance requirements
My insurance gave me 3 mos. to reach that level of compliance, but I reached it much earlier. How long does yours give you, it can't be immediate. You'll get there. Yes, it's three months, but the required compliance is evaluated each month (have to use it 4 hours, 70% of the time in 30 consecutive...

Re: First night with DreamWear went Ok
I was so hopeful that the Dreamwear mask would be the answer to compliance for me but I have had problems (discussed on here) of the headgear riding up the back of my head during the night. Love that it is so light weight and all but I have been having too many sleep disruptions because of the headg...

Re: Sleep lab results, says no auto machine
Due to moving, changing insurance companies, then going on Medicare, I have had eight sleep studies over the past 20 yrs. Never has anyone at the sleep clinic been involved with prescribing a machine. The sleep doctor or neurologist who sent me to the clinic for a study was the one who does that. Th...

Re: Need advice about Dreamwear mask
I contacted Respironics via their website last week and received an email today from them requesting info, followed up by two phone calls to clarify my situation. (Still waiting for my medical device company to return my call.) IMO it is CRITICAL that anyone having this same issue with the headgear ...

Re: Need advice about Dreamwear mask
I don't have any velcro but I do have an unused roll of this rug gripper tape. Since I already have it and don't have to spend any money, gonna try that tonight to see if it helps the headgear from riding up the back of my head.
Will let you know it it works.

Re: Tips for SWIFT users!!
I was originally trying to comprehend the strap idea posted at the beginning of this thread. Reading through 8 pages is way too much for me. I did look at the pic as you recommended. Doesn't the velcro get caught in one's hair? Trying to translate that to the headgear on the dreamwear - hmmmm. Also ...

Re: Need advice about Dreamwear mask
I posted this in the bumped post.... OMG My ability to concentrate as well as to make heads or tails out of concepts/descriptions just does not exist. Up, up up goes my anxiety level trying to picture this. Having been a visual person all my life, I sure wish there were photos. Appreciate your bring...

Re: Need advice about Dreamwear mask
My hair is shortish so I have to work around it no ponytails or such for me. Grrrr. I think this is going to be MY mask for a long time but this problem needs to be solved otherwise I am back to square one. On the mouthbreathing situation, has anyone tried using a narrow cervical foam collar to help...

Re: Please help me I am so fustrated and alone
I am certainly not an expert but here is what I would do, given you have no medical assistance to adjust the machine. This is just one of the many tutorials online that can tell you how to adjust the pressure setting. http://www.apneaboard.com/dreamstation-clinician-setup-instructions I would use a ...

Need advice about Dreamwear mask
Last night was my third night with the Dreamwear mask. There is so much to love about it - especially that it is lightweight! Have three comments/questions. 1) How can you keep the mask headgear from creeping up the back of your head? Although my hair is not long, this AM I woke up and the headgear ...

Had been semi-tolerant using the AmaraView but lately, it has felt heavy, like an elephant sitting on my face.

Re: NPR article about insurance not wanting to pay for CPAP
Interesting article even tho it is a few years old. I know myself that compliance is a huge issue but in many cases for good reason. When I was diagnosed 20+ years ago, I never was given a choice of masks. Of course I was not compliant. The mask was horrible. I was not overweight either - BMI was 23...

Re: Weird Problem for Me
Of all the masks I have tried over the past 20 yrs (I have never, ever been compliant), I am pleasantly surprised that I now have a mask that works for me (at least some nights). Amara View I have a very thin nasal bone/bridge of my nose so any mask that sits on my nose has been out of the question....
