Pressure Control vs. Spontaneous/Timed
I am new to a PR System One AVAPS and am trying to learn how to drive it. I read the brief descriptions of the PC mode versus the S/T mode and the words seem to be almost the same. Can anyone explain the difference in simple terms for me, or give a reference for more detailed explanation? What are t...

New AVAPS user still with problems
I’m not sure what is the best way for continuing long threads/revisions/updates. It seems to me that “Reply To” threads soon get so cumbersome and bulky as to be very hard to follow. I’ll try to summarize and update my situation. After a follow-up sleep study I finally got my new PR System One BiPAP...

Re: SleepyHead freeze in Fullscreen
I'm very fearful of futzing with the registry. I did a search of its files, and nothing with Jedi returned.K8TEK wrote:Delete everything in the windows registry with the word "jedimark" in it after uninstalling it.

Re: SleepyHead freeze in Fullscreen
Hallelujah and thanks Palerider. f11 did work its magic and I could hook the margins and shrink the display and all menu items were visible and functional.

SleepyHead freeze in Fullscreen
My SleepyHead 1.0.0 beta 2 has frozen when I selected "Fullscreen Toggle". I found a previous thread in which this was reported and extensively discussed, but without any fix that I could find. As previously reported, uninstalling and re-installing the program does nothing to fix the problem. Has an...

Re: New AVAPS User Problems (Try Again)
Thanks Palerider. I sent the zip file to you (I think) via pm. As far as I can tell, the data from Encore matches SleepyHead pretty well (although less detail, I believe.)

New AVAPS User Problems (Try Again)
After a follow-up sleep study I finally got my new PR System One BiPAP AVAPS. With my previous BiPAP Auto I had been getting CA's about double my OA's with total AHI's in the twenties, and with IPAP 25, EPAP 20 (or as close as could be tolerated) with restless nights and sleepy days. My new prescrip...

Re: BiPAP SV vs. AVAPS
So do both modalities initiate a pressure wave (breath, if you will) after a set period of no inspiratory effort, i.e. central apneic event? Otherwise, how do they help with clear airway events?

BiPAP SV vs. AVAPS
I'm struggling to get some understanding of BiPAP SV and AVAPS. I remain confused. Can someone explain these (down on my level!) or give a reference?

Re: Central vs. Obstructive
Pugsy,
Thanks for your reply. But what is "FOT?" I can't find that detailed anywhere.
So now, if as I suspect, the CA's are confirmed in both modes, then will I require yet anther study to titrate ASV?

Central vs. Obstructive
I've been on BiPAP for 7 years for my severe mixed sleep apnea. Presumably because of my self-induced (but persistent) morbid obesity I require high pressures (25/20 recommended). My AHI's have never been good - on a good night I break single digits - on average more like in the teens and now for pa...

Cataract Surgery and CPAP
I'm told I'm not far from needing cataract surgery on both eyes. My concern is that with my high-pressure Bipap setting, my mask always seems to ride up and put pressure via my cheeks onto my eyeballs. I always have the aggravating dry eye-thick mucous from mask leaks, but I wondered if that indirec...
