Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
I am glad some continue to have success with them so still a chance. Registered at beginning of recall with DS1. I have had my status changed to "Action needed: Prescription Setting Needed for Remediation" beginning of January and gone through the listed 888-511-2797 number only to be told I am stil...

Re: Okay to wear earplugs/ear defenders with nasal pillows ?
I use foam OTC ones and haven't noticed any issues. It probably has been about 2 years now since I started.

Re: Why pay a deductible?
Definitely don't get what you don't need. For the deductible question; for my family we always meet the deductible and most of the time the limit each year. We usually buy on insurance so that amount is applied to meeting the deductible otherwise it is just extra spend somewhere else.

Re: Chin Strap recommendations please
I have just been using the premium Phillips chinstrap for many years but with a triangle folded bandana under my nose and the strap to keep my lips closed.

Re: Tried AirFit P10 - Back to OptiLife
Yeah, I had it spread apart as much as possible but the lower part of the pillow was still too tight. I did manage to get the upper part ok by putting the top strap on the front of my forehead . I can probably get it there by the suggestion to cut the bottom and sew in a Velcro strap. My DME has agr...

Re: Tried AirFit P10 - Back to OptiLife
Thanks robysue, I may have to pull the dreamwear back out and try some other wraps. I tried the wraps that came with it and they came close to covering everything but at the base next to my nose. I've worn the FX for years and I despise the feel of silicone on my skin. My fix for those dang silicone...

Re: Tried AirFit P10 - Back to OptiLife
Thanks RogerSC! I will take a look at the videos. I am a bit hesitant as I don't like any air near my eyes but it looks very interesting. Have you looked at the Sleepweaver Elan nasal mask? I've been a long time Swift FX user, and was looking for a softer mask. The Sleepweaver Elan is a bit more dif...

Re: Tried AirFit P10 - Back to OptiLife
Thanks SleepyEyes21, I may end up trying one of those suggested or try stretching it out further. I was surprised by my rash on my face also since I did not have that happen before on my nose.

Tried AirFit P10 - Back to OptiLife
Well, I tried yet another mask to see if I can get the same results that I get with my OptiLife but I am again returning to my tried and true. I started trying to find a replacement due to my DME special ordering it now. With my rather large head and the small adjustment margin I am left with on the...

Needed Min Pressure adjustment on AutoBiPAP
Big thanks to Pugsy in pointing me to software that can analyze the new DreamStation AutoBiPAP data. While the machine was controlling OA events pretty well and rarely raised above the min/support settings, I didn't realize I was getting Hypopneas (fairly high) and an occassional central. Adjusting ...

Re: Dreamwear Nasal Mask Sensitivity
The mask seems to work fine and inflates but just tightening to my face causes the edges of the cushion to touch my skin just beside my nose (Medium-Wide size) and causes the rash to appear. I have tried the Medium also but get leakage with that one that annoys me. I have gone back to my nasal pillo...

Dreamwear Nasal Mask Sensitivity
Alas, I have to stop using my Respironics DreamWear nasal cushion mask. After successfully wearing it for about 4 months, it is now starting to cause a rash on my face where the silicon tubes come in contact. I have tried the fabric wraps all the way up to the nasal cushion but I still have a bit co...

Re: New Mask from Philips Respironics
This mask is definitely comfortable. I put it on a few minutes prior to getting in bed to allow it to warm and fit to my nose where it then stays all night. No more air on my arms or my wife or needing to keep my face turned slightly up at an angle. There is a slit in the front of the nose for press...
