Re: Have you ever woken up from an obstructive apnea?

Suffocation nightmares were really common for me before CPAP treatment. Used to have a recurring one with a coffin where I had been buried and only had a straw from the coffin to the surface to breathe through that occasionally was clogged. In retrospect was probably a mix of sleep paralysis and apn...

ozij - Thanks - but wow a lot of detail in those tables......
I think it makes sense - somehow the video made it seem so simple.

Re: Airesense 11 "for her" -Is this real?

Happy to use a "for her" setting - labels are no big deal - anything to lower the AHI is fine. I would use an Airsense "for kangaroos" setting if they had it and it worked. :D It just seemed weird my AHI would be so different across devices given the same mask and pressure settings. Thanks for the v...

Airesense 11 "for her" -Is this real?

So I am one of those success stories of a sort - no headaches and not falling asleep in front of the TV anymore - content since 2015 with my respironics system one 60 apap. Last year average AHI 1.74. I removed the foam when it was recalled and own a backup machine. My wife had a sleep study this sp...

Re: Sleepyhead Lost Month of Data

Rebuilding using the backup folder worked!

Monthly data for September still does not show on the overall stats monthly page, and I am not sure it is using Sept data for the averages.
But Daily and Overview have my Sept data again.

Thanks Pugsy

Sleepyhead Lost Month of Data

Hi everyone, I have now been 100% compliant and doing well for about 6 weeks. No more falling asleep in the evenings! Thanks to all the help at the beginning from everyone here its been pretty smooth. Moving the pressure up to the 9-11 range got the AHI <2 9 out of 10 nights. I got a new machine in ...

Re: Hypopnea & klonopin correlation

Sure, I hope that works well for you. Slow weaning theoretically should minimize some of the extra rebound. Some people move more as well coming off the clonazepam, (it treats RLS), I guess that can lead to more mask leaks. I am pretty new to CPAP personally, but have some experience with clonazepam...

Re: Hypopnea & klonopin correlation

Sorry that came out slightly wrong - I was on the telephone when I was typing. Clonazepam suppresses REM. Immediately after you stop clonazepam there is benzodiazepine withdrawal REM rebound and hence more paralysis and possible related increased hypopnea. Given time off the clonazepam this effect w...

Re: Hypopnea & klonopin correlation

There are a couple different things going on with clonazepam, and for sure we don't don't everything about it, its a little bit of a muscle relaxant itself, but I would guess suppressed REM and reduced REM based paralysis and airway collapse could be a cause of increased hypopnea. Were most of the h...

Re: Treated Snoring ....Found Apnea?

Last night - OA 0.4 Hypopnea 0.4 VS 0.1 AHI 0.8 No stomach issues at all, I woke up at 4:45 this morning (that was 7h5min sleep) and had to check the CPAP was even on (which it was) at 8.5. I hope I am skipping the "mask awareness" stage. I have done so well with this machine so far, it makes me a l...

Re: Treated Snoring ....Found Apnea?

Pugsy, Good points about the broader consequences and limited benefits of the paper trail given deductibles. Although maybe I could get a better data machine. And yes I am curious about how bad the apnea really was. I mean looking back I had all the symptoms. Falling asleep in the afternoon and even...

Re: Treated Snoring ....Found Apnea?

Thanks, Yes, I have had some GERD symptoms more this year. Taking Pepcid... I'll try the left side sleeping as well. I have lost about 8 pounds in the last two weeks I think I was snacking to stay awake. I am off to bed to get up at 5 for work. Sleeping 7 hours or so is a lot more relaxing now, but ...

Re: Treated Snoring ....Found Apnea?

Sorry Den, I entered the PR Remstar Pro M Series with C Flex in my profile, I am not sure why it is not showing at the bottom of the posts. I'll move the pressure up a bit more this week. At 8.5 I notice it more with a little stomach upset, not sure if I am swallowing a little air, so I'll probably ...

Treated Snoring ....Found Apnea?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, but have been lurking frequently over the last two weeks. Two weeks ago I finally got fed up with loud snoring that led my wife to seek shelter in another room if she was not asleep before me. Snoring had become over the last couple years more and more frequent, as...
