Re: Tactics to Avoid Backsleeping??
I'm working with a 29-year old lady who finished an in-lab sleep study with an AHI of 3.8 and a RDI of 6.2. The sleep doctor recommended against CPAP and against forced non-supine sleeping. The sleep study did not show any benefit to non-supine sleeping. The lady's attempts to avoid supine sleeping...

Helping a Young Lady
I'm working with a 29-year old lady who finished an in-lab sleep study with an AHI of 3.8 and a RDI of 6.2. So, insurance will not pay for CPAP, and she is so far revolting at the idea of CPAP. We both believe her problems might be controlled by avoiding backsleeping. (I have also procured for her a...

Re: Moved from ResMed S9 AutoSet to Dreamstation AutoCPAP and having problems
Huh?? The reason most of us are here is that we can get the setting right when the medical profession can't.
Learn to use OSCAR and take control of your own therapy. You will be happy you did.

Re: IQoro
The exercise consists of placing the device between your lips and front teeth and pressing your lips together tightly, then pulling the device straight forward as if trying to pull it out of your mouth. Hold this tension for 5 to 10 seconds, then relax for 3 seconds. Once when I was in the navy, I ...

Re: COVID 19, CPAP, Ventilator MEGA THREAD...everything go here please
This surge is from the riots 14 days ago. That's a political statement that is not backed by science. Covid-19 and other infectious diseases grow exponentially, not linearly. The number of cases seems small, and suddenly there is a major outbreak. We are seeing surges in many states due to failure ...

Re: Using Manometer
While Medicare has adjusted their requirements over the years apparently they have yet to relax the 2hr dx requirement. Someone corrected you on this further up in the thread, but you are again repeating it. For studies less than two hours, a patient qualifies for a Medicare diagnosis if: 1. There ...

Re: CPAP and my Ears?
Please wait and see the doctor. The internet will only yield more anxiety. Any pregnant woman will tell you of unsolicited worst-case scenarios they receive from total strangers--all in the best of intentions.  That's so true. I really just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced si...

Re: Using Manometer
did your old PSG not meet some part of their new guidelines since your last PSG? This sounds so hopeful in the negative. I suspect you've been praying it did not meet new guidelines while thinking it would save face for you in the forum. BTW, Medicare has tended to loosen requirements, e.g.,...

Re: Expiratory palatal obstruction
That is, if PAP is ineffective when used to treat this. You don't mention anything about your AHI or your leak level. Are you keeping an eye on it using OSCAR or even just looking at the machine display? You can tell if CPAP is ineffective by looking at the data. BiPap is set to CPAP straight 7 pre...

If you are getting dry mouth from mouth breathing, it could affect your teeth. Dry mouth can lead to cavities.

Re: Did Lansinoh change?
I have used Lansinoh for years. My bedroom is 65F in the winter and 73F in the summer. In the summer, Lansinoh is a perfect thickness. In the winter, it's so thick/hard you can barely get it out of the tube. While I am reading or watching TV, I'll hold it under my arm for about 15 minutes to warm it...
