Another run in with Apria. Thankfully its the last
I have a new machine and decided to end my relationship with Apria. I first called my insurance company to confirm the details of my coverage. 45 minutes later after first saying I DO own my machine, Aetna confirmed that NO, I never owned it. Apria owns my machine and has owned it for the past seven...

Re: Cpap Beginner: My first night -- 1 Hour
First off I just want to say hooray for you! You lasted an hour with your PAP. I can't help you with what might be happening with your treatment, but I can give encouragement. We all went through an adjustment period when we got our machines and masks. Eventually you'll get the hang of it. Keep tryi...

Re: Questions about REMstar Pro C-Flex +
Thanks for the advice. My old APAP gives me a 7 and 30 day average for pressure. My average has been pretty steady for a very long time. This new machine has a 30 day Auto trial mode which is APAP to figure out your pressure. Then it goes to a CPAP-check mode to tweak it a bit more and then it finis...

Questions about REMstar Pro C-Flex +
I've just been given a practically brand new REMstar Pro C-Flex + machine from a family member who doesn't want it. This will maybe replace my 7 year old Mseries APAP brick. I've read the user manual and printed a copy of the provider manual off the internet. The first thing I'm gonna do is remove t...

Re: need some fast advice on getting first cpap
Also check with your insurance company to be sure that you will actually own the machine when you are finished "renting to own" it. With my Aetna insurance I paid my price and then AFTER all that money was paid out, I found out I don't own my machine. The DME still owns it. That was 6 1/2 yrs ago. I...

Re: CAN I WEAR MY CPAP DURING COPD FLARE
When my husband has a COPD flare up, his oxygen saturation drops. He gasps for air and he breathes by heaving his chest upward. He is using muscles in his chest that he normally does not use for regular breathing. He was told at the emergency room that when he breathes like this his muscles will eve...

Re: OT: Colonoscopy
The prep and procedure does not take days of bathroom time. Last colonoscopy I had was easy as the ones before. You have clear liquids for breakfast and lunch and then take your prep around 4PM or so. At that point you're running to the bathroom for the next few hours. You have your colonoscopy the ...

Re: Super new...please tell me you get used to this
You WILL get used to it. Give yourself time. It'll become a love/hate relationship. You'll hate the fact that you're tethered to a six foot hose and have to have a mask on your face all night. You'll absolutely love the fact that you wake up feeling refreshed every morning. You'll love that you won'...

Re: Done with APRIA!!!
I have a six year old APAP from Crapria and STILL don't own the thing. I was initially told that it was 12 month rent to own machine. I was given the out dated brick Mseries. When my 12 month period ended I was told oops, you don't own this, we made a mistake. Your insurance company says that its OU...

Re: Best mask for side sleepers?
I use a Fisher & Paykel FlexiFit 407 mask. It doesn't seem to stick out as far from my face as some of the other masks I tried. I think it's got a smaller profile. I have no problems at all sleeping on my side, hugging my pillow, with the pillow scrunched up against my face.
