Why does cpap taste like popcorn in my mouth

I have a resmed and a dream sleep only teamed is selling weird it’s very old like 15 years but it was cleaned and said ok .but my mount tastes like popcorn on that machine what could it be I wake up out of breath on dream sleep I’m using 14-18 on both and a flex 1 on dream sleep . I am rentng a bi pap flex for 50 a week ,,,dr reluctantly agreed . in fact she yelled at me saying i dint have OHS which I clealry have and copd ot boot . I like the flex except they set it too high Can I change it? and how? i have to buy the thing if it works ,,,buti cannot take the higher pressure...

I thank you for your replies am in alberta....and only the government can give a bi pap ....you are all very kind and i have been trying to get appoinmnet with the sleep doctor at a hospital here as soon as I can .I agree i may have to do with a bit of a lower pressure so I will try just 15 and not ...

I listed my location Canada which is far behind in healthcare ....I have tried everyhting here I saw a pulmonary dr last summer said my copd not bad and tummy was causing most breathing problems... I am to see a hospital dr march 8 going ot ask for bipap --here only govt can giv eyou bi pap ridiculo...

Thank you for replying .I am using a full face mask I changed it. And I odnt have a sleep doctor but have had the test two years ago for blood gases all indicated a c pap. Bi pap is covered by hte governemnt here so I dont think they were too keen on changing it. I am quite certian I could use a bi ...

Please help with advice on hyperventilating /short of breath

I am using a resmed and have a pressure of 16 ,have gained a bit of weight since that pressure -20 lbs -but i wake up very short of breath ,have mild copd and take meds as well I tried lowering pressure to 14 then using auto pap 14-18 now trying to 18 tonight. can u help ,,,i have a decent full face...

Just wanted to say I looked up manual online for my machine as well. And i tried auto ,it was very different .I am not sure I could get used to that. I will give it a few more days though. re humidifier ,it is usually very very dry here ,I see there is an auto for hose humidity as well.

I can try turning it down and see what happens.

another thing is always having a stuffed nose and actually ear issues as well.I had many ear infections as a kid and adult.but that steady pressure really gets to me.
