Re: Started CPAP with AirSense 10 AutoSet. SleepyHead showing a lot of clear airway apneas. Is this normal?
I'm not able to tolerate APAP, when I'm in auto mode the machine keeps adjusting pressure upward after sensing CA's and I end up with higher pressures then I actually need. CA's disappear when I'm on a straight CPAP setting. In my case pressure changes cause CA's. Luckily my pressure needs are minim...

Re: where to get supplies
I get mine from a local DME. All supplies are free with my insurance but the DME has done, in my opinion, shady things like substitute cheaper filters, take spare masks out of kits, etc. I told them to stop this or I would report them and find a new DME. They said they would honor my request- waitin...

Re: Low AHI but I still feel terrible
Just my opinion on mask tightness... my Wisp mask is adjusted so its actually kind of loose, the headgear mostly just holds it in place and the mask just seals without being pulled much at all. I've tried a bunch of other masks and some of them had to be very tight to seal. So, keep experimenting.

In-Line Heat Moisture Exchange (HME) Humidifier For CPAP
Just thought I would pass this tip along. I purchased a travel CPAP machine which I'm really excited about, but I found the HME did'nt work well with my Wisp nasal mask. The Wisp and its extra tubing segment placed the HME too far away for it to be effective. HME's as you might know trap exhaled air...

Novel chinstrap idea
If you have any 2" Coban or Vet Wrap at home it's really easy to make a great chinstrap. Start with layer of wrap around your head, in about the same place a hat would sit on your head, then do one layer going under your chin and around the top of your head until the two pieces meet. The first band ...

Re: HDM Z1 CPAP (just purchased)
That is a thoughtful and well written review, thanks for pointing me to it. I did try a setting of both 2 and 3 pressure relief but didn't notice a sound difference on the straight CPAP machine. I have some minor problems with tinnitus so that may actually help me with the breathing noise, I can ign...

HDM Z1 CPAP (just purchased)
I don't see much about the Human Design Medical (HDM) CPAP travel machine in recent posts so I thought I'd mention that I purchased one last week and while I don't have a lot of hours on it yet, I like it! The machine itself is very quiet and small. However, like most people have mentioned in regard...

Re: P10 users sound off
I wear a medium cushion generally but when I my nose gets a bit sore I switch to the small and have done so in the middle of the night. I occasionally use lanolin crème and do always hook my P10 hose through a rubber band passed through a button on my pajama shirt - that keeps the mask from being pu...

Re: Neck Collar
I did a quick PubMed search on neck collars and what worried me was mention of possible increased intracranial pressure while wearing. I did not read the full article but it's something worth doing more research on. I thought better not to solve one problem and create a new one. Otherwise, I like th...

Re: Found the Right pillow!
The hotel collection pillow you mention is a nice one, good quality down. I'very used them for years. Even my dog has one My trick is to take about half the feathers out and save the feathers for new pillows later. You just have to find someone willing to make the pillow for you. My pillow is about ...
