philips respironics remstar auto a-flex
Is there any way to have the machine keep the setting used to start with without adjusting throughout the night? I like the start up pressure however when it lowers the pressure my mask will start to leak at the low pressures and I would rather be able to keep the start up setting all night. Is ther...

Re: It's all about the Bullies
I have found that distinguishing the Helpful members from the "trolls or bullies" really isn't that hard. By the time somebody has been posting or "hanging around" for a year they really aren't that hard to read. I haven't been around long but I am able to tell who is giving sound information based ...

Re: No longer need CPAP?
lauperfan I think if you remain consistent to the point of being stubborn about sleeping with your equipment, you will get to the point that the CPAP is something like a security blanket. I am slowly learning how much better I feel and sleep. I have actually done this rather quickly, once I found th...

Re: Mask more mask
Just had my first night with the AirFit F10 ff. This is only the second ff mask I have tried, but I think I hit the sweet spot with mask. Went the entire night without waking up until 5:00AM. I haven't slept that long without getting up in 20 years. I have turned into one of those "I love my CPAP" p...

Re: More expensive with insurance? WHAT?!
I spent about 50% less buying my ACPAP and equipment from CPAP.COM rather than a DME through my insurance. Now nobody but me and my Pulmonologist have anything to do with my therapy or equipment. I have found it best to keep the insurance out of my business as much as possible, especially when it sa...

Re: Mask more mask
I tried the Oracle because I'm a serious mouth breather and thought I would give it a try. I just can't take the dry mouth with not being able to close it at times. My first choice was the Quattro F10, looking like that might be the one to try. Generally are the newer designs the better mask?

Re: Scared.
I never thought I would be able to stop smoking. Seven years ago my wife went to the hospital with COPD. 2 nights before she had to go to the hospital we had diner at my brother in law's restaurant and my sister was using Electronic Cigarettes. I asked the Pulmonologist about E-cigs and he said yes ...

I think many of us wish we knew we had SA at your age, it would have saved me decades of being dead on my feet during the day. Consider yourself lucky you found out before you spent most of your life in a fog.

Re: BiPAP vs Auto CPAP
I should have made the title more clear, there isn't any question about BiPAP. I didn't want to put the generic "Help" and didn't title the thread right. I'm just getting familiar with nomenclature and the jargon on all this, bear with me I'll get better. Pugsy answered my question.

Re: BiPAP vs Auto CPAP
Thanks for the info, looks like I'm getting into the learning curve a little. I downloaded Sleepyhead but will have to get a SD reader to get the data in my computer. The seasoned users on this board are such a help to us newbies, I'm so glad I found this forum and the information here. I think I ca...

BiPAP vs Auto CPAP
My Insurance Co screwed me first by not accepting me for an in house sleep study so I had a Home study. Well surprise surprise I have Apena and the insurance didn't pay anything because I haven't met my $3,000 out of pocket minimum. Then a DME called and wanted to "fit" me with a CPAP and when I ask...
