Re: 18 events an hour bad?

My machine recorded 18 events but the thing is I was wide awake and didn't sleep. This is my 3rd mask from Apria now. I have 2 different full faced masks. 1 is Resmed and I have a nasal mask. In this whole time I have not slept at all and am wearing the mask from 12 pm to 8 am every single day. I c...

Re: 18 events an hour bad?

But, the REAL question is... will this help me look 18 yrs old again? If yes, I have the banana and yogurt all set to go. It absolutely will, but it's more complicated than you think and only likely to happen if you post pics so we can give you tips on how to best apply. Trust me, I've done it too ...

Mash a banana, then add 4 tablespoons of yogurt and mix everything together. Apply this to your face and sit down and relax for 10 minutes.
Enchanter stepped up and provided pics. Will you?

Re: Pros and Cons of Using CPAP

Specifically I am looking for hard stats on survival rates for untreated OSA. In many of the clinical studies I am find words like, "less than foolproof", "may" and "confounding variables". Anecdotally if a procedure or program works for an individual then it is certainly the way to go for that par...

Re: I really need some help.

Hi all. I am trying to use my CPAP each night but it's just not working. Something is wrong. I am absolutely exhausted beyond belief. I'm sorry if you already set it and I missed it, but how long have you been on CPAP? It's actually quite common for people to be exhausted at first until they get us...

Re: Pros and Cons of Using CPAP

I understand CPAP is the new standard of treatment for OSA but that is why I am confused at how difficult it is to research hard stats. I am a senior living on a fixed income and the costs of this system will be formidable for me. What "hard stats" are you looking for? I'm a "show me the evidence" ...

"Dreadful experience of CM50D+"

I thought maybe it tried to cut your finger off or something.

Re: Almost 6 months into cpap, still haven't improved

Been using this machine for almost 6 months and I still have yet to feel refreshed and normal after a nights sleep. Honestly, Im thinking of just returning my cpap (waste of money) and maybe seeking another alternative method, or just not giving a F and sleeping without anything. I'm so frustrated ...

Re: Torn about what CPAP to select

I've not noticed anything much as far as changes (not like what I've read on the forum )... Sleeping is still quite fragmented but somehow I am more alert during the day and I'm not as angry.... OK but just to be clear, while it's easy to find stories here of how someone used their CPAP and suddenl...

Re: Torn about what CPAP to select

I know that the typical diagnosis for apnea is 5+ events, but is it true that insurance won't cover if oxygen is hitting 83%?! Question is not directed at the thread starter but at others. Seems like there has to be some way for the doctor to get the machine covered if it would fix that?!

Re: First night, high AHI

stefan, obviously we don't know yet and I'll let the other experts comment once you provide more info, I'm also on my first month of treatment so I can provide a little feedback on that front. Sleep test showed around 40 AHI. When I started I was seeing some nights at 10 AHI. Last night after about ...

Re: My CPAP Treatment Journey

On the very positive side, I had a greats nights sleep last night. My first might of sleep with AHI under 1. Slept for 9.5 hours and with no bathroom breaks! And what's more, I didn't do the thing I would usually do if I slept that long, which is wake up needing to go to the bathroom, but ignore it ...
