Re: Frequent shut-down and error message on my CPAP
Funny. Right after I sent my latest reply I got a message pop up from F& P. This is what they said: Hello, Thank you for contacting Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, Customer Care. It would be hard to know the cause of the issue without investigation. Is an error code displayed? If so, what is the error c...

Re: Frequent shut-down and error message on my CPAP
There is no message. It just says ERROR. If I push the start button nothing happens. So the only way I have found to reset is to unplug and plug in again. Then it starts up. It doesn't shut down again once that happens, but there is no code associated with it. I sent a message to F&P but got no resp...

Re: Frequent shut-down and error message on my CPAP
It was a brand new machine 2-1/2 years ago purchased via Medicare from X-Med Medical. Since it now seems to be doing this every night, I contacted X-Med today. I had also noticed a slight electrical burning scent so I shut it off and slept without my machine last night. Yuk - that very familiar bad ...

Re: Frequent shut-down and error message on my CPAP
Oh wow. I didn't know there was an issue about Soclean. I thought it was supposed to be really good for health reasons making the mask and equipment more sanitary. Thanks all for the advice. I also didn't know there was an issue about having other electronics nearby. I usually put my phone down next...

Re: Frequent shut-down and error message on my CPAP
Dust where? I use a SoClean every day to clean the mask, tubing and humidifier chamber with an ion system. I change filters on the machine once or twice a month. Where else is dust accumulation?

Re: Frequent shut-down and error message on my CPAP
Medicare only covers a new machine every 5 years. It will be 3 years in Nov with this machine. Bummer.

Re: need advice for mask - nasal congestion
I wear an Amara View Full face mask which is great because it actually rest just under your nose but covers your mouth. I have had a stuffy nose all my life and expected that a CPAP with a humidifier would solve the problem. It helped, and I have noticed that if I get a cold or sinus infection I can...

Dry mouth and gum issues with CPAP therapy
The past two teeth cleanings my hygienist has been concerned about excessive plaque buildup and gum tissue quality due to dry mouth. I take very good care of my teeth and gums. I started using Biotine rinse and gel due to excessive dry mouth since I started CPAP therapy. They said that dry mouth is ...

Frequent shut-down and error message on my CPAP
I have a Fisher & Paykel Icon CPAP. Lately, within 20-30 seconds after starting the machine it shuts down and an ERROR message pops-up. The only way to fix it is to unplug the machine and plug it back in. It doesn't happen every night, but the frequency is increasing. So far this week it has already...

Re: Amara View mask leaks
I definitely thought it was better than the other masks. It is just that I have really sensitive skin that doesn't seem to like plastic and silicone pressed into it for 6 or 7 hours a night.

Re: Amara View mask leaks
Thank you. I'll try making my own temporary liner. I did see some cloth and paper liners online but not sure if they work with this mask or not.

Re: Amara View mask leaks
I am a newbie - just started on CPAP 6 days ago. I have the new Respironics Amara View full face mask. I am very claustrophobic so this one seemed to work the best. However, I am having an issue that there are leaks from the top even when I tighten the straps, so I have had to tighten more than is c...
