Re: Ketogenic Diet (Keto) - Ineffective and Dangerous

Here are four foods that get a bad rap: 1 - Potatoes: Potatoes according to study that researched satiety, showed potatoes to be the most filling foods given it’s calories. Potatoes are also loaded with valuable nutrients. I recommend switching between both sweet potatoes and white ones as they each...

Re: How To Choose Pressure Range?

It's just that most of the times I've recommended that the person investigate or try using straight pressure is when they've posted that they've been using a range of pressure for a certain amount of time and aren't feeling rested or better. But now you use that same old refrain when the OP is usin...

Re: Advice for my Bro-In-Law

Who regulates this industry? The problem is exactly the opposite of what I guess you are thinking. DME industry is one of the most heavily regulated industries in the country and most of their money comes from third parties (insurance companies). You need a license and are subject to audits and the...

Was that comment necessary?
It was not necessary, but maybe it you will find it useful to review what else is going on in your life. CPAP is not a "cure-all".

ChicagoGranny's list is a good place to start a review.

Re: Can you recommend a doctor at Stanford's sleep center?

Sleeping without the machine can ruin what you did the rest of the night. Why is that? Can you please expand on it? As Pugsy mentioned, we usually get a lot of REM sleep in the wee hours of the morning, and typically sleep apnea is much worse during REM. During that hour of sleep without the machin...

Re: Exhausted!!

I have severe sleep apnea. I have been exhausted all week. When I get up to use the bathroom around 6 or 7 am I cannot fall back asleep. So I only get 6 to 7 hrs with my machine and that is not enough for me. If i take 2 benadryl I fall asleep in 45 min to 1hr & sleep for a few hrs. But I am exhaus...

Re: This is driving me nuts

Consider joining a gymmet just plain getting in shape. There is nothing more refreshing than that. They say it release dopamibe and improves working memory. ESL no doubt. I'll say this, I can be dead tired and falling asleep at 6:00 p.m. and a visit to the gym gets me wide awake and energetic until...

Re: This is driving me nuts

http://www.satprnews.com/2015/07/20/is- ... eep-apnea/ Is studies like this something recent? It has been known for at least ten years that sleep apnea can cause symptoms of ADHD in kids and adults. I doubt many doctors knew it 10 or more years ago, but many of us patients were very well aware of it.

Re: Heated Hose Cleaning

18 years using CPAP and I never cleaned the inside of a hose. Have been using the current hose for 20 months without cleaning. The one before that was about four years. As well as I remember it has been about four years since I had a mild cold and I haven't had any other infections. If you clean the...
