Thanks, everyone, for the good education on humidity. I may experiment with having it turned off or at least turned down.
I’m so grateful for this forum, thanks again!

Is humidification necessary when the air is humid?
I’m been using a ResMed Airsense 10 for eight years (except for a brief and unhappy interlude with the Phillips Respironics Dream Station 2), and for the first time I wondered if I really need to have the humidification turned on when the air is humid, as it is right now in the Boston area, or does ...

Re: ResMed Airsense 10 compared to Phillips Dreamstation
Thanks for the additional information. I didn't know you could re-set the time for when a new day starts. I never could find a way for the light to go out on the Dreamstation, but on the ResMed it's easy to by just holding down the off/on button longer than usual. The instructions that come with the...

Re: ResMed Airsense 10 compared to Phillips Dreamstation
Update: Thanks to everyone who responded to my original post. My update is that I was finally able to reach my doctor by calling her directly. She said that the Phillips gives her more breath to breath data, but that I could switch back to the ResMed if I wanted to, provided I would be willing to us...

ResMed Airsense 10 compared to Phillips Dreamstation
I used a ResMed Airsense 10 for so long I now officially own it. Last year my sleep disorders doctor switched me to the Phillips Dream Station, the one that got recalled soon after I started using it. She wanted me to switch because she said it gives her more information. I’m not very happy with the...

Advice on how to tell my nephew he should be tested fir OSA
My nephew is in his late 40's, snores loudly, is heavy, and complains of being sleepy all the time. OSA runs in the family - I have it, one of my brother's has it, and my niece (sister of my nephew) has it. I've mentioned two or three times it would be a good idea for him to talk to his doctor about...

Re: Amara View Mask - anyone like it?
Thanks, everyone! No, I hadn't read the reviews, thanks for the link, Pugsy. It's good to know there are some happy users out there! I tried a nasal pillow and a nasal mask but I found exhaling too difficult with them. I also tried the new Dreamware that my niece uses and likes - I wanted to like it...

Amara View Mask - anyone like it?
I've been on cpap for two years now and have struggled with the usual typical problems - finding a mask that fits, reducing air leaks, etc. I've more or less adapted to using the Quatro Air although because of a small bony outcrop on either side of the upper part of my nose it's still uncomfortable....

Re: Problem with leaks
Thanks, Pugsy, this is a good motivator for me to make the effort to figure out how to post the data and I know it would be very helpful for me to have you take a look at it! I will check it out and post asap. Later....... I just followed all the steps, but I can't figure out how to do the very last...

Re: Problem with leaks
Thanks, Pugsy, I thought of that, too. Last night my leak rate was better but my AHI were higher - 6.5, which I know is not good. (I got Sleepyhead and read your tutorial, which was very helpful, but there's still so much I don't know, and I haven't figured out yet how to post the data here. That's ...

Problem with leaks
I have been using a cpap for a year and a half now and thought I had pretty much gotten all the kinks straightened out. But lately I have been having a lot of problems with leaks. A couple of weeks ago I spoke to my DMS and they suggested trying a new mask, which I did, and there was a great improve...

Re: A serious question about a CPAP related matter.
I also was diagnosed with afib two years ago and the cardiologist said I should be tested for OSA whuch is how I disovered that I have severe apnea. In my researching afib online I came across a terrific blog by an electrocardiologist who himself has afib. His writings are the most helpful thing rel...

Re: newbie, need help!
It may also help with leaks if you have the hose suspended above the bed. You can drape it over the headboard or pllow or rig up a loop attached to the wall to hold it in place. I find that I am most apt to have leaks when I am sleeping on my back, not so much sleeping on my side. It could make a di...
