Re: What did people do before 1980 ?
I was reading a article concerning just this very thing a couple weeks ago. I read it online when I was researching Central Sleep Apnea. And just like most people posted before me they (doctors & researchers) are now almost certain that before modern CPAP, people with sleep apnea would die in their ...

Re: Has Anyone used the F&P Opus Nasal Pillow Mask?
You know, I had wondered about the Nasal Aire II also. I was scared about the side thing with that mask also. Good to know that the air filled side tubes were not that big of a deal. From What I can tell the side air tubes look even smaller on the DeamWear. Anyway, I'm just thrilled that I met someo...

Re: Has Anyone used the F&P Opus Nasal Pillow Mask?
The new DreamWear looks very interesting! I like the over-the-head design (check). Pillow design (check). I'm an active side sleeper. Wonder what the air filled tubes would feel like while sleeping on your side? That would be my biggest concern. Thanks for the heads up Pugsy. Very, very interesting....

Re: Has Anyone used the F&P Opus Nasal Pillow Mask?
Thanks for the reply Pugsy. Sounds like it's definitely worth a try. Next month when it is time to replace my full headgear. I'll get my DME company to order one for me. Six months with an irritated nostril has been a drag. Kinda wish I could find an over-the-head type nasal mask with the new nasal ...

Re: I like cold air. Can I turn humidifier on?
What you are asking is NOT counter intuitive. I also prefer to breathe cooler air but for most of us that use CPAP we have to use the humidifier or our nasal passages will get very dried out and in a lot of cases will bleed. If you have a heated tube, turn the temp for the tube a low as it will go. ...

Has Anyone used the F&P Opus Nasal Pillow Mask?
Has anyone here use the Fisher & PayKel Opus Nasal Pillow mask? For medical reasons I can only use nasal pillows but my nasal openings are just a little different. I have used Resmed's P10, Swift LT, and Innomed's Aloha. (Love the over-the-head design). However, all three cause one of my nostrils to...

Re: New machine (Airsense 10 for Her) -- HELP?
Obviously there are some differences in how these machines function. I would not change masks or hoses, etc. Make an appointment with your DME provider and go over you issues and hopefully they will be able to help you set up your new machine to where you are not having these new difficulties. That'...

Advise Needed on Nasal Dilators
Hello all, I use nasal pillows which I love however, my nostril's are two different sizes, small and extra small. I have to use small pillows but my extra small nostril stays irritated. I was looking at nasal dilators and I can't decide which dilators would work best with CPAP so I decided to asked ...

Re: Trazodone for PLMD
Sorry Julie but the definition of addiction is when you have to take more medication at higher doses and more often to get the same affects as you did when you were taking the medication at a lower dose. Trazodone is the type of medication that your body builds up an immunity too therefore, you cann...

Re: Trazodone for PLMD
I've had sleep problems practically all my life. I used Trazodone for years starting with 50 mgs and finally went up to 150 mgs. Trazodone is NON-ADDICTING. It was the best and safest sleep medication I have ever used (and I have used a lot). The problem for me was that my body started to become imm...

Re: My brand new Resmed Airsense 10 is a lemon
The ResMed AirSense 10 has a two year factory warranty. I use the AirSense 10 Autoset. A couple times my machine started to loudly amplify my breathing and I could tell the noise was coming from the humidifier. It took me a while to figure out what the problem was and it turned out that the silicone...

Re: Trouble with my mask......anyone with similar issues?
I absolutely have the same issues. I have extremely sensitive skin. I mean the type of skin that breaks out with cysts If I do not take care of it properly. I also use a nasal pillow mask and until I started cleaning my nasal pillows as well as my face every night with Hibiclens (chlorhexidine gluco...
