Re: am i going to get it ?

thought I would give an update. The dr thought I needed to do a sleep study. Went around with insurance co....bcbs said home study was considered "experimental"...and therefore not pay....well after the sleep center and the clinic talked to them, they (bcbs) agreed to a home sleep study, but in resu...

Re: am i going to get it ?

had to jump thru some hops to find things out. seems most people just do it, and pay no attention to the cost. Here is what the insurance company said: split night sleep study $640 Dr to read study $130 Auto cpap $1250 Humidty unit $350 I estimate the hose, and mask, and etc at about $150 since I've...

Re: am i going to get it ?

thank you for the reply. Main thing right now is the reason for not much energy, and terrible night sweats. Just about every night for a number of years now, I get up and I am soaking wet. I finally have got tired of this and am pushing it with my doctor...so looking at the possibilities. we do not ...

Re: supplemental oxygen at night

sleep report did not show sleep apena, but only o2 levels drop....so no cpap equipment. She is on medicare, so you must go by their rules. They will not accept your numbers, it must be done by a certified agency and read by a disinterested third party, and then the doctor reads their report, and iss...

Re: supplemental oxygen at night

sorry but we are not going to drag a almost 40# bag around, and has four little wheels on them. The contract states they need to provide o2 when and where needed. Research I have done, shows the unit we would be using, I can order for $639....they charge in excess of $200 per month, for 36 months, a...

Re: supplemental oxygen at night

will need to get to the town a couple of days before for radiology and labs, not in hospital, then they would rather have us stay in town a couple of days when
she is released, since we are over 300 miles away.

supplemental oxygen at night

hello. This is a follow up to "sp02 82%" We had the home sleep sp02 test light night. The company downloads the data to IDS, and in less than an hour they have their "interpitation", that the dr uses to justify his rx to medicare. While we find out my mom did not get as low as 82% like last time, th...

Re: spo2 low of 82

Did more checking today. Clinic has data, doc needs to look over to order spo2 test, but he's going to be gone for a while !!!!! So I callled around. These supply places are nuts. I've picked out three units that i would consider. I priced them locally then on the internet......Locally, double or t...

Re: sao2 low of 82

john. Rather interesting suggestion. As background. Due to some edema, and a need to get into some shape for some possible surgery, it was decided to get in the best shape we can. One thought was CHF. So an ECHO was done, it revealed the ejection fraction was good (in the 60's) but noted the left at...

i stand corrected. the spo2 is the "indirect" measurement, most commonly found by our little finger units.

Re: sao2 low of 82

Another update. The RT department and the DME supplier called. The talked to medicare, and medicare can not accept the sao2 data from a sleep study to justify supplemental oxygen durning sleep. So, the next step is to do an overnight sao2 study. Equipment is ready, just need to have the dr write an ...
