Re: Dumb Question or Merely Mystified
CPAP can prevent events from happening, thus allowing you to sleep better. There could be many other factors that could improve your numbers as well. Perhaps you have been sleeping on your side more, rather than your back. Perhaps you haven't been eating right before bed. Perhaps your allergies are ...

Re: I gave my CPAP back!!
You probably won't get a lot of sympathy here. Most people on this board are focused on helping people make the necessary adjustments to their therapy to improve their health. With that being said, I hope you stick around, read other posts. Many people have had the exact same issues that you faced. ...

Re: French Nurse Expert in Apnea's Treatment, don't understand..
I believe that the primary audience of this forum is people who at least in some respects, the medical profession has failed. I find it interesting to consider different healthcare delivery models. As many posts on this forum will attest to, the current system isn't perfect. It would be interesting ...

Re: Newbie here!
Congratulations on starting your journey to better sleep and health. You have a good machine and a good attitude. You are well on your way. Now I would suggest that you work on comfort issues. These are little things that once taken care of help you sleep better without waking up. Such as liners or ...

Re: 3 months in
I find that sometimes it has to do with what time I am waking up. My "best" sleep is usually between 6am and 8am. Even if I get more hours, if I wake up earlier than 6am it doesn't seem as restful. My AHI is good. It is probably due to REM sleep. I try to go to bed at the same time, wake up at the s...

Re: Hating on the Hose
I bought a fleece hose cover. I like the ones that unzip all the way. It makes it easier to remove. I bought a 6 foot one and pulled it close to my mask. I find that if it is covered in soft fleece, it doesn't wake me up when I touch it in my sleep. I also love my buckwheat hull pillow.
Good Luck!

Re: pregnancy
Congrats! I found a full body pillow useful for aches and pains. It took the pressure off my lower back and I slept better. I used it to support my rapidly expanding belly. I slept on my side almost cuddling it with my arm and leg thrown over it. A mattress pad that will make the mattress softer mig...

Re: Is this normal in the beginning
I can have good numbers, but am not feeling as rested because of poor sleep hygiene. I would look at your Sleepyhead data, maybe there is something to learn there. Otherwise, take a look at your sleep hygiene. Being mindful of that has helped me. Good Luck!

Re: HELP! Moving to full face mask from nasal pillows
There are several fitting videos found on youtube. Those may be helpful. I have found that tighter can be worse with full face masks. It seems counterintuitive, but sometime looser allows the cushion to inflate and you get a better seal. You can also try a mask liner. If you are creative, an old t-s...

Re: Las Vegas/Henderson CPAP Talk
I had a great experience with my DME and find them very helpful. I have learned a lot from this website and as I have become more knowledgeable the relationship has changed. Lately they have been asking for my opinion on the equipment I am using. Also, they have worked to provide me with the equipme...

Re: can't exhale through my nose!!!!
A lower setting may not solve your problems. What is your prescription? It should be a number between 4-20. The lowest setting may not be giving you enough air. I find a setting of 4 uncomfortable. Also what equipment are you using? We will need brand and model #. That will tell us if there are sett...

Re: Greetings All
Welcome! I am so glad that I found this place. I found the diagnosis to be isolating, even though my Dad has had a CPAP for years. This forum has been very helpful to me and I encourage you to refer back to it as challenges arise. There is a lot to learn, it is nice to be amongst people who have fac...
