Re: Lots of clear airway events
Please confirm...the diagnostic sleep study was it done in a sleep lab setting or was it done using home sleep study and if it was a home sleep study do you know the type of device that was used? The number of centrals and the consistent pattern throughout the night no matter what the pressure is d...

Re: Lots of clear airway events
After the first night, I dialed down the maximum pressure from 15 to 12 cm H2O, .... (1) My prescription was for 5-10 cm H2O APAP . if your rx was for 5-10, why were you up to 15? and 12? if you've got complex sleep apnea, then higher pressures often equal higher centrals. some people report more c...

Re: Lots of clear airway events
Did you have an in lab sleep study with the cpap machine being used? Do you have copies of the sleep study results? Both the diagnostic sleep study (no cpap use) and if you had a titration with cpap being use??? If you don't have the results...get copies of the reports. Your centrals don't appear t...

Lots of clear airway events
The last two nights have been my worst on APAP therapy, by a substantial margin. See Sleepy Head data below. I've been getting an enormous number of clear airway events (AHI ~5). After the first night, I dialed down the maximum pressure from 15 to 12 cm H2O, but the clear airway AHI stayed roughly t...

Re: other Airsense questions / issues
Hi folks, I've noticed in the past 2 weeks that I am seeing big gaps in data ranging from 1 hour to 3 hours in my Sleepy Head program. Sometimes I see the leak rate graph zoom up -- so perhaps the mask moved? Other times, there is no such increase in the graph... Any ideas? Perhaps the mask is gett...

Re: Lots of events at max pressure
So the last two nights I've been running APAP with 5-12 cm H2O. AHIs were 1.5 and 0.8. The machine actually spends about 75% of the time at 6 cm H2O or below, so I'm hesitant to raise the minimum pressure. The only other reason to raise it would be to minimize sleep disruptions due to big pressure s...

Re: Lots of events at max pressure
Do you have a copy of your sleep study? Did it specify an optimal pressure setting? Was there any mention of Central Apneas in it? How did you end up with a range of pressures? Your minimum pressure does seem a bit low to me, but depending on what your sleep study (titration) says, and how you happ...

Re: Lots of events at max pressure
Here's a SleepyHead readout with flow limitation and leak rate. Seems like the prudent thing is to keep watching for clusters like these and slowly increase the pressure range should they recur. I should have mentioned this before: I did tighten my full face mask last night as a result of a mask fit...

Lots of events at max pressure
Hi there, I'm 9 nights into my CPAP therapy and having a great time. Typical nights have been 1-2 AHI, but last night I had an hour-long (515-615am) cluster of hypopneas even though my machine maxed out my prescribed pressure (5-10 cm H2O). Is that an indication that I should start tinkering with th...

Re: Hose valve stuck open
New theory: mask and valve are operating normally, but I'm waking up from the noise from the exhaust ports at high pressures. I tried running a mask fit, which seems to ramp up the pressure. I heard the same noise that I've been hearing at night. Unfortunately, I think my machine might be jumping th...

Re: Hose valve stuck open
what makes you think the anti-asphixiation valve flap is getting 'stuck open' at night? that valve is pretty much foolproof, and if it was open, you'd have a massive leak... not a negligible one. ignore avi, he knows not what he speaks of... ever. Normally the mask is whisper-quiet with only a tiny...

Re: Hose valve stuck open
Is it safe to sleep with it as-is while I wait for the new mask?avi123 wrote:you need to replace the mask b/c of the anti asphyxia valve malfunctioning.
