Re: About to start my 3rd week
I'm in the exact same boat as you. Wednesday will be my 3-week APAP anniversary, but I still feel pretty crappy from being interrupted all night by leaks. My AHI score went from 90 untreated to less than 2.0 with my machine, so I am happy that the therapy is working as far as combatting sleep apnea....

Thanks, LSAT.
So you think 10cm is a better minimum pressure for me than 8cm?

Re: Does 10-15cm seem like a good pressure range for me?
Here is my chart from last night. I set the pressure between 8cm-15cm and also used medical tape to try and keep my mouth shut. As you can see, I had some pretty major leaks: http://i.imgur.com/Yi37xpK.png TedburnsIII: You are correct that there isn't a prescribed pressure setting on my sleep test e...

Re: Help the new girl please-back to the basics
Yes, it refers to the amount of pressure needed to raise a column of water a certain number of centimetres.
Here is a video that shows the differences between cmH20 and PSI (pounds per square inch) for measuring pressure:

Does 10-15cm seem like a good pressure range for me?
First of all, I want to thank everyone on this forum who has been nice enough to give me advice. Living with sleep apnea here in Korea can be rather isolating as there is little information or support from the local medical community. I have just completed my first two weeks of using my APAP set bet...

Re: Australian cpap prices
It's the same here in South Korea. Sleep apnea is not covered by the national health care system so everything must be paid out of pocket. I paid about $700 USD for my overnight sleep test and they would like me to also do an overnight titration test for $600. A new Resmed S9 Autoset with humidifier...

Re: My First 12 Days of APAP: Settings Advice?
Robysue, thanks for the great info. I am almost at the 14 day point, so that might be a good time to evaluate things and tweak my settings. I have gone ahead and ordered the Respironics Premium chinstrap off of Ebay and it should be arriving in Korea sometime late next week. My most recent SleepyHea...

My First 12 Days of APAP: Settings Advice?
Hi everyone, I have just completed my first 12 nights of using my S9 Autoset device and would appreciate some feedback. Here is the link to my SleepyHead Charts: http://imgur.com/a/pLzuW and my original sleep test: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/mdcubyrmb50lfd9/AADX89dZxQg2sJ7ELIuNKfFBa?dl=0 Here are so...

Re: Do I Need a Titration Test?
Haha...small world, ain't it? You should think about selling in Korea. I was mistaken about the S9 going for $1,500 over here. It's actually TWO-thousand-five-hundred after the dollar/won conversion. Check out: http://www.gosleep.co.kr Yes, that's a good point about the mask. It's a "Mirage FX" and ...

Re: Do I Need a Titration Test?
Well, I just completed my first night using the S9 and I slept like a baby. It felt a little strange at first, but I was able to get used to the mask and breathing pressure just after about 10 minutes. I went to bed at 11pm and set my alarm for 7am, but I woke up naturally at 5:30am feeling fine. Is...

Re: Do I Need a Titration Test?
Wow, thanks for all of the great advice and support. It seems like you all have a nice little community here. I've gone ahead and uploaded my sleep test results to Dropbox if anyone cares to take a look. The numbers still don't really mean that much to me yet as I still need to educate myself much m...

Re: Do I Need a Titration Test?
Hi Julie, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. The machine I am renting for the next 3 weeks is a "ResMed S9 AutoSet" with the "H5i" humidifier. Because the Korean prices are double of what I am seeing from the states, I am going to buy my machine from a US website and have my mom send it over ...

Do I Need a Titration Test?
Hi everyone, I am an American living in Korea and finally decided to see a sleep specialist due to concerns from my girlfriend that I wasn't breathing during my sleep. Unfortunately, my Korean national health insurance coverage does not cover sleep disorders so I have to pay everything out of pocket...
