Re: Total Inspiration ?
I think Philips Respironics reports total leak, so anything under 60 is good I believe. Maybe you don't have a leak problem - I'm not sure why sleepyhead says you have large leaks - maybe in the settings the threshold needs to be changed. It looks like again, the majority of your AHI is comprised of...

Re: Severe chest injury and CPAP?
Chest wall trauma sounds like a good candidate for BiPAP...if the pain causes an inadequate breathing pattern, probably from not being able to take full deep breaths, it would mean ventilation is being effected. Pressure Support is what will augment ventilation, not CPAP. BiPAP also allows the EPAP/...

Re: Total Inspiration ?
Your backup rate of 16bpm is rather high for most people. It could be causing asyncrhony where you're trying to take spontaneous breaths but the machine is constantly cutting in because you're breathing spontaneously below 16bpm. What is your spontaneous breathing rate on the machine (lying down wi...

Re: Still Struggling with BiPap and Anxiety
Pressure Support is just the difference between IPAP and EPAP. So if your IPAP is 20 and your EPAP is 12, the PS would be 8 - which is a lot unless you have a respiratory illness. You may wish to try just switching the therapy mode over to spontaneous bi-level - so one fixed IPAP and EPAP pressure. ...

Re: Still Struggling with BiPap and Anxiety
Even though your EPAP min shows set to 9cm H2O, there are times on the chart that it goes below that? Ramp shows as being off as well. Also, it seems the machine wants to spend a lot of time with EPAP at or above 10cm H2O. Most of your AHI consists of obstructive apneas. EPAP/CPAP can cause cardiova...

Re: Is there a mini bipap (like transcend)
I failed to consider yesterday that your current night time/sleep setup may be inadequate. With adequate ventilation support/muscle rest at night, many people actually notice improved functioning during the day. What I'm trying to say is: you may not necessarily require daytime ventilation as of yet...

Re: Is there a mini bipap (like transcend)
If you have muscular weakness and need ventilation support while mobile, it sounds like you my fare well with a portable ventilator, if your insurance would cover it. Just one example: the ResMed Astral 150 is a portable ventilator that weighs about 7lbs and has an 8 hour internal battery - and you ...

Re: PLEASE HELP WITH MY FIRST SLEEPYHEAD SCREENSHOTS
I glanced at 4-5 of your charts. One thing in common is large leak % is more than normal. Ideally with a proper mask fit and no mouth breathing, you should not really have much leak at all. That is not always a culprit, or even matter, but it is something that can be improved. For example, I use a F...

You need to reupload those pictures in imgur. Next time you can hit preview before you make a thread to make sure they came out right.

Re: Does Therapy Look Optimized?
You have some flow limitation/hypopneas that may go away with a bit more min pressure. You don't seem to spend much sleep time at 6cm h2o.

Re: Breathing during excerise
@Matt: resting does not prevent my muscles getting weak. So using them less at night doesn’t prevent any weakness during the day. I do not have apnea, so it wouldn’t do me any good. If you have elevated CO2 due to muscle weakness, it's almost definitely because you are retaining CO2 while sleeping ...

Re: Breathing during excerise
You would need a portable ventilator that has a battery. They usually mount to the person's wheelchair so I'm not exactly sure how it works if the person is still able to walk around. I can't imagine walking around with a portable stand like in the hospital would be easily doable. The brands that I'...

I love the S9. The flow of air is very quiet with the easybreathe motor technology.
