Re: my husbands diagnosis of OSA

Thank you so much, I have the link and post to James to try at work. Maybe he can open it there. I did not see a link for a SNI but perhaps I can find that online somewhere. You mentioned we could figure out the reason for these snores with it. Or maybe I'm way off. He and I both crashed last night ...

Re: my husbands diagnosis of OSA

Okie dokie... did James' equipment from the list (I think I did it right), asked him the main questions, got some stats and info, and the report from iCode. Here is what he said: What the APAP feels like to him: it feels like a lot of fresh air that he would expect to be warm because it's a mask but...

Re: my husbands diagnosis of OSA

Thank you everyone, he found the alarm for the mask but did not see the icode option when pressing the key to cycle through. I told him to try installing it first (i don't know it was my best guess at 145am with no contacts on to repost lol) He thinks maybe the manuals y'all linked are an older manu...

Re: my husbands diagnosis of OSA

Well I've read both manuals to the resmart apap and do not see anywhere how to access the data or a sd card of any kind. Sorry I guess I'll have to wait on giving that info I just do not know how to access it. I'll post it when we figure it out.

Re: my husbands diagnosis of OSA

Holli You've had a ton of emotional worries and woes thrust upon you. It's okay to take baby steps. Your husband is in good hands and the therapy you're using is the gold standard! Most of us don't take to therapy like ducks to water, but more like lurching towards a goal. This is not like a cut ar...

Re: my husbands diagnosis of OSA

[quote="yaconsult"]Hi, Holli. Finding the right mask is the single hardest part of cpap therapy for most people. And the doggone things are so damn expensive that we can't afford to just buy a bunch of 'em to experiment. But feel free for either him or you to post about difficulties with a particula...

Re: my husbands diagnosis of OSA

Pugsy was kind enough to help me identify the mask earlier in this thread. Thank you for the tip about putting everything in the additional comments field. I was actually trying to figure that out last night. I will do that as soon as I have a chance. Today or tomorrow. I got kind of crosseyed with ...

Re: my husbands diagnosis of OSA

Yes Bill thats exactly what happens. He has a lot of throat and cheek fat so opening his mouth does create leaks. He says he slept better last night but his snoring was worse. He feels he wants to adjust the pressure tonight as well as try to stay off his back when he sleeps. So that's the plan for ...

Re: my husbands diagnosis of OSA

Place some painter's tape over his mouth. I am finding it very effective, in lieu of a chinstrap. But I do them together with good results. Oh, sorry, FFM. Duh. So, then, why does he need a chinstrap? Am I missing something here? You are saying that he snores with the FFM, yes? Yes he has a ffm but...

Re: my husbands diagnosis of OSA

Other than the pics posted, we are on track for night 2. We have the resmart machine because we do not have insurance. I was really hoping to be able to use the sleepy head software I have read so much about but maybe someday it'll be compatible. My husband, James, still snores though just a little....
