Mouth taping and less pressure…

I breathe through my mouth and find mouth taping helps a lot. It seems like I require less pressure when I tape my mouth. Seems to make sense because it is a closed system and there is no air escaping, so less pressure is needed. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Problems with Airfit P30i...

I have tried to get the Airfit P30i to work for a long time but have given up at this point. The problem is that it is almost impossible to use a chinstrap underneath the mask because of how the mask is designed and the bulk of it. I have tried so many chinstraps and it just does not seem to work an...

Re: Help with ASV settings…

I use a MyPillow but I wonder if it is too firm and crunches my neck up. It seems like I always end up sleeping on my back but I do not even realize it. I have a My Pillow that has less fill and I am going to try using that one, I have not used it before.

Re: Help with ASV settings…

Also FYI I take a sedative medication right before bed and I think this severely impacts my AHI and the ability of the machine to control apneas. It seems like once the effects of the medication wears off after a couple hours after taking it my AHI begins to lower. I may try taking the med a couple ...

Re: Help with ASV settings…

Your doc obviously hasn't read the manual! Assuming you have an ASV to treat central apnea (and why else would you have one?) the PSmax should be not less than 15. In the absence of any other information I'd suggest the following settings to start with. Try them for a few nights then report back wi...

Help with ASV settings…

The doctor wrote on my sleep study EEP of 5 and pressure support 5-10. How would this apply to the Resmed ASV machine? Does this mean I should do EPAP of 5, PS min of 5 and PS max of 10? My breathing feels very strange and abnormal when I use EPAP of 5, PS min of 5 and PS max of 10, I do not find th...

Re: Gave up coffee...wow!

My wife gave up coffee because she doesn’t have a gall bladder or thought it was making her stomach issues worse. She was right. I wanted to also cut back so I just had one cup a day. My sleep is significantly better after cutting it out completely compared to just one cup early in the morning. My w...

Re: Chin Strap recommendations please

I like the Ruby style chinstraps. I have tried basically every type. I also use Cover Roll stretch tape because chinstraps do not keep your mouth closed as you would think. I used a chinstrap without the tape on my mouth for a long time and sleep so much better with the tape and the chinstrap. Here ...

Gave up coffee...wow!

I gave up coffee about a month ago due to it starting to bother my stomach and cause anxiety. I cannot believe how solidly I sleep and the dreams I have! Especially within the first week or so of giving it up. Anyone else find giving up coffee helped their sleep quality and quantity? Also highly rec...

Can a pillow worsen apnea?

I use a My Pillow and have realized that it sort of crunches my neck up. Has anyone noticed their pillow can negatively affect their apnea if it is too thick or full? My AHI has been dreadful for some time now and after trying everything else, I wonder if the pillow is worsening it.

Need some help reading data...

Can anyone help me read some of this data from sleep HQ? I have noticed that when I have my machine on APAP no matter what pressure it is at, it will jump to the maximum pressure almost all of the night. My AHI is also bad when my pressure is high and bad when it is low. All of my apnea events seem ...

AHI bad with nasal pillows but good with FFM...

My AHI is always much worse with nasal pillows and there are about half as many events when I use a FFM. My pressure is the same with each, I have not adjusted it. It is 10-16 autoset. I think I end up sleeping on my back in the middle of the night and maybe the nasal pillow cannot keep my airway op...

Overbite and sleep apnea…

So I have a horrible overbite, and did not really realize how bad it was until recently. If I am a good candidate I am thinking of getting Invisalign or regular braces to correct this. Has anyone gotten Invisalign or gotten an overbite fixed and found it helped their sleep apnea?

Re: AirFit N30i where to get without NEW QuietAir

I am beginning to dislike Resmed with all of their Quiet Air venting. Yeah it is quiet, but the problem is that I can't breathe through any of the masks with this. The P10 and P30i all have that issue, where I feel like I am suffocating. I always end up going back to the Philips Nuance nasal pillows...
