What is your AHI?

Hi - I just had an appointment with my sleep doctor and she said my AHI was far too high, along with me also having central apnea. She adjusted some settings on my machine and I am hoping it helps. Last night my AHI was 13.3, she said it should be 5 or lower. What is your AHI usually? I am new to CP...

Re: Not feeling rested in the morning...

I tested out my nasal pillows and realized they were WAY too loose and leaking all over the place. My machine did not detect leakage but they were definitely not right. I also switched to the small size pillow. We will see how I feel tomorrow.

Re: Not feeling rested in the morning...

Thank you for the info. So you had to switch machines or did you keep the same one? I am honestly new to CPAP and am not sure how to adjust this on my machine.

According the My Air Resmed site I have had 0 Leakage (L/min) since using the nasal pillows again.

Re: Not feeling rested in the morning...

I will get set up with Sleepyhead soon as I currently don't have it on my computer. I will also try the smaller size pillows and see if it helps at all. I have noticed that when I sleep on my back the medium pillows are leaking quite a bit, but my machine is not detecting anything. Like I have done ...

Re: Not feeling rested in the morning...

Wouldn't my machine detect this? It shows that there is no leakage at all.

Re: Not feeling rested in the morning...

The only thing I can think of is that the equipment supplier fitted me for a small size but I have been wearing the medium size pillows. Could this affect anything? I was told on this forum that the bigger size could help with exhaling and make it more comfortable.

Not feeling rested in the morning...

Hi everyone - so I have alternated between different masks over the past month and am trying to figure out why I don't feel rested or 'refreshed' in the morning. I am currently using the Nuance Pro Nasal Pillows and before that was using the Airfit N10 nasal mask. The N10 worked better but it irrita...

Re: New to CPAP and trying to find the right mask...

Good points. I noticed that I have been waking up quite a bit in the middle of the night with the nasal pillows. I think this may be because there is water in my nose from the tubes/machine. I'm not sure, I am going to try the N10 tonight and hopefully it does not irritate my nose too much.

Re: New to CPAP and trying to find the right mask...

So I've been using the nasal pillows since Thursday night. I feel good but not as 'refreshed' in the morning as the Airfit N10. I do feel better than when I was wearing the Airfit F10 full face mask though. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Maybe a nasal mask is the way to go for me? M...

Re: CPAP works but no relief of symptoms

I am new to CPAP therapy but have you tried different types of masks? I have realized that this can have a big impact on the quality of the therapy and that everyone is different.

Re: New to CPAP and trying to find the right mask...

I like it, very comfortable. The exhaling thing is a little strange but I think I will get used to it. I do not feel quite as refreshed today but I think it's because I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep for a while.

Re: New to CPAP and trying to find the right mask...

I tried using the next size up last night. I woke up in the middle of the night at one point and couldn't fall back asleep for a while. Other than this they seemed to be comfortable and there was no leakage to speak of.

Re: New to CPAP and trying to find the right mask...

So I had my appt with the equipment supplier today and I ended up with the Respironics Nuance Gel nasal pillows. They are very comfortable and the technician said people have really good luck with them. I tested them out a bit when I got home from work and the only odd thing is that it can be diffic...

Re: New to CPAP and trying to find the right mask...

Just an update, I tried out my nasal mask again last night and used the CPAP cream that I have. I feel WAY more refreshed today and actually have energy. I am going to get nasal pillows today and am hoping that I feel just as good. It is a shame that the N10 irritates my nose so much, like right now...

Re: New to CPAP and trying to find the right mask...

Yes I am going through a 90 day trial period at this point. I figured I want to take advantage of it and try as many types of masks as I can.
