Update - 3 weeks with CPAP

For those who are confused, tired, and about to get their CPAP. I wanted to relay my first three weeks experience. Some background, although I was being impacted in my daily life especially when sitting still to work, the irresistible urge to sleep, and continual crankiness - I am rated MILD on the ...

Distilled Water Only while traveling?

So I have a conundrum ... I've had my Airsense S10 Autoset for only 2-3 days now and I leave on a business trip on Sunday for one week. I'll be speaking at a tech conference in Philly and will be at the conference hotel without a rental car. I was told to use Distilled Water only, otherwise sediment...

Re: Mattress for Side Sleepers

We ended up going with a Sleep Number bed, which was about the same cost as a good quality mattress. It's been a God Send for both my wife and I. Especially because I found I like one setting for when I am on my back and one setting for when I am on my side. Made a huge difference with my back probl...

Ha! That made me laugh.

2 Nights with CPAP - Question.

I've had my Respronics Airsense S10 Autoset for two days now and am using a nasal mask. Although I am still figuring out how to get comfortable, deal with the hose, and set the tightness on my mask properly - I've gotten two days of 7.5 hours sleep with no leaks. But I have a few questions. 1. My bo...

Re: Heard of ResMed Airsense S10? (Any Good)

HA! Thank you for your feedback, I was able to call and clarify things with the provider. I am receiving a Resmed AirSense S10 Autoset, which looks to be second to top of the line (which is "for her" - whatever that means). So I feel much more comfortable with what I receive now. From what I underst...

Heard of ResMed Airsense S10? (Any Good)

I got a call from my sleep center that my perception is being filled. I was surprised that I don't get to pick a machine they essentially tell the doctor what to write in the script based off my sleep results. Before I decided to raise holy hell about this, I asked what Iw as being assigned before I...

Re: Wrist Sleep Monitors

I have used both Jawbone and Vivofit. I use them primarily to track activity to make sure I am moving, I stopped using them to track sleep. As neat of a feature as it is, it is just tracking how still you are, not quality of sleep so much.

Re: Purchasing Questions

Excellent, thank you - that helped a lot.

But I still have that odd question on brands. All else being equal, is there one brand that is known as better quality, or the "go to". What about brands to avoid?

Purchasing Questions

So I am in the "research" phase as I wait for my CPAP prescription to be written. I've scoured this site and believe a lot of this is here but scattered. So after some research I had a few questions if you all wouldn't mind. After reading here I know there are a few features I need : 1) Data Capable...

I think we need to add the word "suckage" in the list to describe your first night. Make it official and all.

My CPAP Tritration - 1st Night with CPAP

Well, for some of the newbies like me, I thought i would write about my experience last night. This is a second visit for me, the first visit 4 weeks ago was to diagnose the sleep apnea. Last night I went into the sleep center for my CPAP tritration where they put a CPAP on the first time and dial i...

Re: Low Score - Does this smell funny to you?

1. Thank you for all the input, I do have a lot to digest. 2. Next step is to get my sleep study results. My doctor has it now, but I will ask for a copy. It looks like I need more detail to give before others can truly weigh in. I do have a follow-up question: I did ask at the study if I had to sle...
