- Topic: new masks how often??

I am staggered by the suggestions of replacing masks evey 3 to 6 months. Here, in Australia, the Comfort Gel costs $235 AUD and the Activa $235 AUD, with almost no benefit payable for replacements. When I inquired of Respironics and friends also on CPAP how often they changed/repleaced their masks, ...

Flying internationally with APAP
Having tried to find information in FAQs and using search I will ask the question I feel certain has already been dealt with previously. I am in the process of booking flights etc to travel overseas to Europe next year and am wondering at what point does the need to be able to use APAP in flight (if...

When do you wear your mask?
Given the number of queries concerning the interference of CPAP with an active sex life that have, quite frankly puzzled me, I am curious to know when most users put on their mask and start pumping. It sounds as is some put their mask on as soon as they enter the bedroom/bed if not before, and maybe...

Using demineralised water in humidifier
For the past several months I have being using demineralised water, purchased from the supermarket in my humidifier with no apparant ill effects, and a humidifier tank that remains clean with no build up of any visible deposits. However, the label for the prodect includes the warning that it is not ...

I initially generally fall asleep within 15 mins of putting on the mask and on subsequent occasions (after waking for a toilet break) generally fall asleep withing 5 minutes of returning to bed. May I suggest the next poll question should be how long we believe we sleep for without interruption. For...

It might be more relevant to ask, if and when person diagnosed with emphysema smoked and if and when they stopped smoking. However, hopefully any one needing CPAP does not smoke.

Derek, Thanks for developing and and making My Encore freely available. I have successfully downloaded used it and recommend that any other users of Remstar Auto machines that have also invested in Encore Pro with Smartcard reader also down load and install it. I have no doubt it will greatly assist...

Having been titrated at 7 cm H2O I initally left my Remstar Auto set at 4-20. However, I noticed my max pressure never exceed 12 and min generally exceeded 7 but the low initial pressure seemed to be too low and I found I was feeling "starved" and needing to initially breath quite deeply. I graduall...

Although I download every other day to view detailed reports relating to the past 2-3 nights, without erasing data stored on the card I now wipe the card weekly and retain only final detailed report (as a PDF) that relates to the week that has just ended. Consequently instead of having numerous repe...

I am happy with the Remstar Bag provided with the Auto . As for accessories I would like and neat rack/container for storing the cleaned mask, head gear and tubing at home during the day. At present the tubing is slung over rail in the bathroom, and the disassembled, cleaned mask is generally spread...
