Re: Off the CPAP for good - just wanted to share my story
Yes I guess I'm no expert. I just noticed that in my case ODI and AHI seemed to go hand in hand and in my case my ODI was pretty high to start with. Regarding my diet, I grew up in France and while I was definitely eating too much meat when the OSA started, I never ate fast foods or anything like th...

Re: Off the CPAP for good - just wanted to share my story
Back when I was diagnosed, I definitely was having OSA when sleeping on my side too. I had pretty bad eating habits back then though... eating lots of meat every night. Also had wine almost every night in front of the TV. But I think that like most people my OSA was lower when sleeping on my side ov...

Off the CPAP for good - just wanted to share my story
Hi everyone, I am finally off the CPAP possibly for good and I wanted to share my story here. Maybe it can be of help to others. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a little over 3 years ago. My AHI was 17.7 and my ODI was 15.5. I had been suffering from it probably for 6-7 years before that. I would f...

Re: PolyWatch YH 600B
Just a thought . . . It sounds like therapy is already effective. Other than curiosity and a fascination for gadgets, what is the objective of this? Ones hobby should not risk impacting ones health--but that is just me. The objective is to try to do everything I can to rid myself of sleep apnea wit...

Re: PolyWatch YH 600B
@Pugsy, @Rick blaine, I finally got around to try this last night. I set my machine to 4.6 maximum (the lowest it goes is 4.0 but for some reason it was hard to breathe at 4.0). I had a bad night but for unrelated reasons (a little bout of anxiety... maybe it was related after all:) So here are my S...

Re: PolyWatch YH 600B
I'm not sure if you checked out all the photographs in the AliExpress website sales presentation, but the device package includes a cannula - the clear plastic tube thing (with, in this case, two prongs at one end) that you stick up your nose. Whether you did, or whether you didn't - how are you go...

Re: PolyWatch YH 600B
since you have an auto you can do some basic testing your self - leave the setting wide open, see what happens. if the pressure goes up, because you are having events, you still have apnoea. if it stays at 4, maybe you dont (or maybe 4 is enough to treat you). worth a shot before spending that kind...

Re: Tried Dreamwear last night - not good result
I switched to this mask a few months ago and I love it but the first few days were tough as with any new mask. I found the best for this one is to keep it pretty tight around your face. I use a pen to mark the best position so that I can find it again after washing it.
Good luck!

hi all, It's been over a year since I had my home sleep study (followed by an on site sleep study) and started CPAP treatment. Since then my life has completely changed, my brain works the way it used to and I am able to run again (ran my first half-marathon this last week-end!). With all that runni...

Re: Adjusting CPAP pressure
@Pugsy: thanks for the tip! I will try a pressure of 4 for one night and see what I get. In terms of weight, I am 6'3 and was 230lbs when diagnosed. I am now 215lbs. 10 years ago when I was OSA free, I was 195lbs but I don't think I can get back to that. And I don't think weight is the whole story f...

Re: Adjusting CPAP pressure
I am feeling a bit drowsy this morning so maybe indeed pressure 7 is not as good as 8. At the same time, my 3 year old has woken me up multiple times during the night in the past few days so I might just be overtired because of that:) One of things I am trying to figure out is a way to measure is wh...

Adjusting CPAP pressure
hey guys, Just to give a bit of background.... I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 14 months ago with an AHI of 17.7. The recommended pressure from the lab technician was 14 although it was for a full face mask. After a couple of weeks with a brick and a full face mask, I got a Resmed S9 Autoset ...

Max EPAP in SleepyHead
hi, I am trying to figure out the results of the last few months in Sleepyhead software. I have a ResMed S9 AutoSet. I used to have a Min pressure of 4 and a Max pressure of 20. I noticed that my max EPAP was around 10.28 average in January so I decided to lower the Max Pressure to 10. In February, ...
