Re: Respironics DreamWear Gel Nasal pillow mask review thread

Ah, interesting. Hmm, so as a side sleeper, I'm curious... can the hose be positioned on either side?

Re: Respironics DreamWear Gel Nasal pillow mask review thread

Thanks for the additional info!
And re the jet of air... I sleep on my side and the air shoots right at my forearm. But maybe I'll get used to it :)
Thanks again!

Re: Respironics DreamWear Gel Nasal pillow mask review thread

Thanks for the quick reply! And wow! I'm just... kinda gobsmacked here. And I have... now more questions! Doesn't this drive anyone else nuts with regards to a large, focused jet of air? Why are there two exhaust holes vs. just one at the top of the head? It feels like I'm getting a lot less air in ...

Re: Respironics DreamWear Gel Nasal pillow mask review thread

I tried the Dreamwear with gel pillows and wasn’t thrilled with it. Until they figure out how to diffuse the exhaust port, it will remain a distant third behind my P10 and Brevida. tl;dr: Does the new silicone nasal pillow diffuse air better than the gel nasal pillow, or maybe I got a fake/defectiv...

Re: Airsense 10 & Rainout

Hey y'all,

Just wanted to let you know that the solution was Windows(tm)-style: Unplugging the machine, waiting half a minute, and plugging it back in.

No more rainout.

Wacky, but I'll take it!

And thanks again for your replies!

Re: Airsense 10 & Rainout

Sorry to be dense here, Julie, but what do you mean by "remove the long tube"?
I'm just using the standard ClimateLine heated tubing (hung over the swivel pole), with my short airfit nasal pillow thing attached.

Re: Airsense 10 & Rainout

Julie, thanks for the quick reply! The machine is on a nightstand that's slightly higher than my bed... but: - It's been that way since January - I use a swivel hanger thing for the tubing, so the tubing travels up (above my head) before it comes back down again. So my assumption is that gravity isn...

Re: Airsense 10 & Rainout

I've had an Airsense 10 w/ airfit nasal pillow since January, and I only started to have rainout issues a few nights ago. Hadn't changed any settings or equipment, and my room is still averaging ~72 degrees throughout the night. When I touch the tubing, it doesn't feel warm to the touch... even afte...

Re: When to upgrade to a new CPAP machine?

snoozysue, thanks for the note about the newer CPAP being quieter. I'd like to not have to wear earplugs . A constant whoosing or humming noise is fine for me, but my current CPAP's, er, musical whining is quite the bummer. y_not, very good things to think about (e.g., even if an upgrade isn't, well...

When to upgrade to a new CPAP machine?

Summary: I seem to sleep fine with my current CPAP, but wonder if I wouldn't sleep even better with a newer one. How to know? --- Hey there, My current (and first ever) CPAP machine is the Respironics Remstar System One Auto, which I got 2.5 years ago. I've had it swapped out twice for seemingly unu...

Re: CPAP noise - whistling and... honking?! :o

Hi Jsmythe, and thanks for the reply! I'm using an Airfit P10 with medium nasal pillow. I've replaced both parts, with no change. Interestingly enough, last night I tried disconnecting the humidifier again, and this time I found that the honking stopped and all that was left was some quieter whistli...

Re: CPAP noise - whistling and... honking?! :o

Thanks, Krelvin. I've been lurking for a bit now and tried to include most stuff that I figured people would need to know in order to offer helpful advice . (and yeah, very true about it being hard to assess how loud the sounds actually are; with photos, you can include a reference object -- like a ...
