Just wondering, if the symptoms mirror GERD, should I worry about taking all the precautions of GERD to reduce the likelihood of aerophagia.
Sorry to bother you.

Eosinophilic Esophogitis and apnea
I started cpap last month and was just diagnosed with EoE. It seems the EoE symptoms got a lot worse once I started cpap. EoE is an allergic reaction that can mimic GERD, usually caused by food allergies. I have the dysphagia and impaction, but I haven't been able to find much about it online, espec...

Re: Is there a link between hypothyroidism and central apnea?
I had one central during my sleep study. Now I'm having 3-5 per hour depending on the night, if I'm reading my sleepyhead data correctly. They seem to be occurring about 2 hours after I go to bed and about 2 hours before I wake up. I might be in arousal from hot flashes, but I seem to be feeling lik...

Re: Headaches and feeling breathless the morning AFTER cpap
This happens after I take the mask off. I hardly even notice the airflow when I'm wearing the mask, and it hasn't been a problem. It's after I take it off in the morning and then spend the next few hours feeling like I can't quite catch my breath--or I'm not breathing right.

Headaches and feeling breathless the morning AFTER cpap
Does any one else feel like they can't catch their breath the next day after xpap therapy?
Also have had migraines (which I am not prone to having) everyday this week, with two yesterday.

Re: Is there a link between hypothyroidism and central apnea?
I could only find the one case study and then something about hypothyroid and clinically depressed population. I didn't spend huge amounts of time looking further yet...but I have read significantly on hypothyroid and have never seen the link to central apnea before (I didn't know I had apnea then)....

Re: Is there a link between hypothyroidism and central apnea?
The endocrinologist is still titrating--they can't find the right dose. I was talking about my cpap therapy. I only had one central but since I've been on cpap therapy my centrals have gone up significantly. At least from the sleep study.

Is there a link between hypothyroidism and central apnea?
I just read that there may be a link between hypothyroidism and central sleep apnea. My central apnea number has gone up since I started therapy. Any one else have this happen? How often does this happen? I go back for my first follow up in May. Should I be concerned that my central apneas are now a...

Sleepyhead overview blank on anything other than 2 weeks
Hey all, I am using the sleepyhead open GL version on an HP laptop running windows 8.1. I have been on cpap since 18 March. The problem is when I look at my data overview. Unless I have two weeks specified in the dropdown, nothing shows in my graphs. Just wondering if it's because I don't have a ful...

Re: Does CA mean clear airway or central apnea
When I look at the data in sleepyhead, it shows up as a clear airway flag. I figured out how to reconfigure my machine to show more information and it finally separates out AHI into obstructed and central apneas. I think, like stated above, it's a matter of who is interpreting the data and just what...

Re: How do you know when bad sleep is NOT cpap-related?
It can be very tough trying to sort out how much of the sleep problems are due to CPAP-troubles and how much are due to other things, including plain old insomnia. It may take a multi-pronged approach to solving, or at least minimizing, hubby's sleep problems. If your hubby chooses to do some CBT-I...

Does CA mean clear airway or central apnea
When I download my data into sleepyhead, I have quite a lot of flags that say clear airway. Is this the same as a central apnea? I'm using the ResMed AirSense 10 Elite.

Re: How do you know when bad sleep is NOT cpap-related?
Hubby just got the same exact equipment as I have. Not sure if we both need the same thing or that's just what the DME gives out...so he does have a full face mask. But he's always struggled with leaks. Does having a beard affect mask seal much? I've just downloaded sleepyhead, but he's only got one...

How do you know when bad sleep is NOT cpap-related?
Hubby has been on cpap since 2009; I started two weeks ago. I have adapted well to the mask and sleep 7+ hours per night with little leakage and usually 1-2 mask-offs per night. He, on the other hand, has struggled almost the whole time. He just got a new machine that showed pretty significant leaka...
