Re: New User - pressure setting 8, what do you guys think?
I personally feel straight set pressure CPAP machines are obsolete and not effective in treating OSA. There are too many variables where your pressure could change during the night. Automatic machines are the way to go. Hi, by any chance are you from Wilmington where my wife attended hi School? You...

Re: Anyone use "MY AIR" on resmed site
I also use MY AIR by ResMed and I use SleepyHead.
However, not sure which one to believe. MY AIR shows excellent, while SleepyHead shows different. (mask leak). I read somewhere that SleepyHead can sometimes register apneas as mask leaks and vice versa (depending on machine).

Re: Serious Dry Mouth post open heart surgery 28 days ago
I used to have horrible dry mouth with my Phillips Respironics and then my Fisher and Paykel Icon but since I received my ResMed Airsense 10 with the auto room sensing humidity, I haven't had any issue with dryness. I have also heard that if you have either mouth or mask leak, you will wake up with ...

Re: Amara View mask leaks
I'm a very hard to fit FFM user. My narrow deep bridge causes leaks into my eyes no matter what I do to the headgear. I've found some relief using moleskin strips on the mask to build up the cushion but I have to replace them every 2 days (the strips, not the cushions). I also replace my headgear mo...

Sleep Apnea can cause heart problems which in turn can cause leg edema, even Pulmonary Edema...at least it did in my case.

Re: Recomendations on Mask
The bridge of my nose is very narrow and deep and I have a quite a bit of difficulty finding a FFM that works. The "best" mask for me is the ResMed Quattro FX Large with small headgear, however not without modifications using moleskins to get a "good enough" seal. I just ordered a Fisher and Paykel ...

Re: I'm back to Diagnostic Study- Home Study Tonight
I had a sleep study years ago - they used the first part of the night to diagnose the apnea and the second to titrate - why on earth would they ever drag it out over 3-4 weeks? A friend of mine had one of those "one night" quickie sleep studies and the Sleep Center was run by a DME company. My Slee...

Re: I'm back to Diagnostic Study- Home Study Tonight
I encourage anyone who going in for a sleep study to call around and ask about turn around times and rules before you schedule or have your Primary Physician schedule any sleep study. Some Sleep Centers' equipment is not up to date, or have limited staff to handle the patients coming in the door. I'...

Re: using distilled water in the humidiefer
I was told you can use bottled spring water in a pinch, lets say just spending a night somewhere but it's not good for you and the machine to use anything but distilled water. I've been using WalMart brand distilled water for almost 2 years and have had no issues. Distilled water, no matter how it's...

Re: How to remove sleep study goop from hair
I was told by my sleep tech to use Conditioner first, then shampoo and it will remove the goop.
