Re: New BiPAP Machine
Yeah, my blood pressue and cholesterol are high, though I've never experienced chest pains, heart attacks, or strokes. I had a blood test done late last year. All it found was that I was Vitamin D deficient, so I take a supplement for that now, but never felt any tangible results from it. Aside from...

Re: New BiPAP Machine
According to my sleep study, my SpO2 levels were about 95%, which I would imagine is pretty good. My heart rate is around 70-90 bpm. Regarding hypopneas, they are the majority cause of my arousals. However, it's still under 5 AHI on most days, which I would think should be more than good enough for ...

Re: New BiPAP Machine
In the past, I had used a food journal, in order to try and correlate what I'm doing to how I feel. This included ANYTHING that I put into my body: food, drugs, water, you name it. I also tracked my sleeping patterns during this time as well. Over the course of 2 months, I had what I would consider ...

Re: New BiPAP Machine
I seem to see many people talking about needing to change their levels. I don't understand why more people don't use the 30 day auto adjust period thing that the PR has? Mine seems to adjust even a year later. Are you guys talking about something different? My machine has Auto SV, so it already doe...

Re: New BiPAP Machine
Here's the info from last night's usage. It is a little short, just over 4 hours, when I've usually gotten 6-7 hours per day, but it will have to do. For some reason, it doesn't have nearly as much information on previous nights, probably because I didn't have the SD card in there, at the time, so t...

Re: New BiPAP Machine
How do I get the data from the machine to the program? My machine normally uses a modem to transfer the data somewhere to mysleepmapper, but that information isn't nearly as detailed. I don't think it has a hard drive on it. I tried putting in an SD card into it last night, but I didn't see any opti...

Re: New BiPAP Machine
According to my sleep study, which was done on a BPAP machine: Time recorded: 415 minutes (~7 hours) Total arousals: 182 (38.5/hr) Respiratory-related: 5 PLM-related: 0 Spontaneous: 177 My understanding is that this means that my arousals have no identifying cause. Essentially, my brain is forgettin...

Re: New BiPAP Machine
I've got a copy of my sleep study. Is there something in particular anyone was looking for? I'll see about getting an SD card for my machine, because it uses a modem to transfer the data to mysleepmapper, which isn't very detailed at all. Why were you given/changed to the 960 machine? What machine d...

Re: New BiPAP Machine
Okay, I've added my machine to my profile, which IS a 960 model, so I also updated the humidifier type. As for the adjustments to the machine, I don't know how I can tell what to adjust, or if they even need adjusting at all. While I sleep, I feel fine. The humidity is good, I can breathe clearly, t...

Re: New BiPAP Machine
Your equipment list doesn't show your machine. Does that mean your BiPap is a Respironics 960 ASV? I would suggest you get SleepyHead and also get Encore. Each displays the therapy data in different formats and can help with your analysis of the3rapy shortfalls. I don't think Sleep Mapper gives suf...

Re: New BiPAP Machine
From what I have seen and experienced on this forum, you will get a good review of good sleep architecture and people asking to see your sleep data with a free program called sleepyhead (see the sticky up top). There are lots of good, knowledgeable people here that are willing to help. If your stil...

New BiPAP Machine
Good news! I finally got my new BiPAP machine and updated my profile, accordingly. Took forever to get the doctors, insurance, and supplier to all get in line, but it is done. I've been using it for a month now, and it's much more tolerable than the previous one. The mask doesn't give me any problem...

Re: Sleeping on Back w/BiPAP (Central Sleep Apnea)
There is another related issue that I wanted to bring up. Might be worth a separate topic, but I figured I don't want to clutter up the forum, especially being so new here. I saw the topic on the importance of having a support team, which is something that I greatly lack, and could use some help wit...

Re: Sleeping on Back w/BiPAP (Central Sleep Apnea)
I've added the face mask to my profile there. I've tried quite a few of them, and this is the only one that I've found remotely tolerable. I haven't tried a CPAP pillow, but I suppose I could look into it. Still, every time I toss and turn my head, the hose gets caught, which I don't see how a pillo...
