Re: Anyone have a spare airsense 10 elbow in Monterey/Carmel?

Yup, wish I had considered this. Know better now. Yes, just the connector. I know it doesn't help today, but in the future when travelling, anybody that is reading, always bring 2 hose and mask setups, because things can get lost or broken. to clarify, you need the elbow for your mask that connects ...

Anyone have a spare airsense 10 elbow in Monterey/Carmel?

I grabbed a new hose on my way to a vacation getaway and stupidly forgot about the elbow connector that connects the hose to the mask. It has a little quick release button. I tried ordering a new mask through cpap.com on Monday priority overnight, but it didn’t show up yesterday and it looks like th...

What oximeter to use with SH and Mac?

I bought a Centac CMS/50D+ and it crashes my mac computer every time I try to load it in SH.

Is there an oximeter that works better?

Re: Help with nocturia

Are you taking any medications and have you ruled them out as the cause of nocturia? No medications (until I started the Celexa). Have you ruled out diabetes? Yes. I also ruled out infection via urinalysis, and other possible causes. Have you tried not drinking anything after 7 p.m, at night? Yes. ...

Re: Help with nocturia

As the original poster, I realize I am overdue for an update. My sequence of events (keeping it brief for the benefit of anyone who might find themselves in the same boat): 1. Nocturia 2. A visit with urologist reveals nothing alarming. Prostate big for my age, but shouldn't be big enough to cause n...

Re: FFM was a bust.

ChicagoGranny - thanks for that sequence. I'm going to do that, in that order. I just reviewed the sleepyhead data for the entire month, and sure enough there's almost always a large sustained leak or sustained break (without mask [in the first week they were intentional, later they were simply bein...

Re: FFM was a bust.

Yes (I mean I'm not an expert, but I could see the leaks on the nasal). This is why I decided to try the FFM. But I think I'm causing a secondary problem: it takes time to get used to things, and by not giving myself time I'm careening. I think O need to slow down and focus. Right now my plan is to ...

Re: FFM was a bust.

Hi guys, Sorry for the delay replying! The mask is an AirFit F10. It was fitted, with a scale. It has quick release, and looks awesome. What I'm finding is pretty much everything related to CPAP takes getting used to, and I apologize if I sounded overly dismissive. I was hoping that the mask would s...

FFM was a bust.

Impressions: Wow that's a lot of straps. Ok I'm in and my nose bridge already hurts. Oh no I have to itch my nose (followed by what seems like minutes of unwinding straps) But the nail in the coffin: woke up at 3am and the machine was going full force with frowny face on leak, my mouth felt like I w...

Re: Another clue

Palerider, very interesting. I have no idea. Whatever came with the machine... I'm only 3 weeks in, so I have a lot to learn. Who knew there was so many twists to this whole thing?

Re: Another clue

Is a deviated septum visible in a physical exam, or does it require a scan? I've had a couple people shine lights up my nose and no one has mentioned a deviated septum.

Re: Another clue

Thanks Pugsy. I had noticed this symptom before CPAP. I had assumed it was allergies, or would go away with CPAP, but obviously thats not the case. One distinct possibility: vasomotor rhinitis http://www.entnet.org/content/stuffy-nose http://www.healthline.com/health/vasomotor-rhinitis#Treatment5 Th...

Can allergens get through the air filter? Seems unlikely. And why only on my side?

Another clue

I have noticed when sleeping on my side my nose gets clogged. Last night I was sleeping great, and then around 3:30 I switched to my side. At around 5 I awoke with clear signs of apnea: my heart was pounding, and my nasal passages were clogged making the nasal mask almost useless. As soon as I rolle...
