Re: getting my mother to try my CPAP
I am currently fighting the same battle with my wife. She is going in for her third study tomorrow night. This time for a bipap titration. Is she still not convinced after the first study? Pretty impressive that you've gotten her to do two already. I just offer d my mom he use of one of our machine...

Re: getting my mother to try my CPAP
You might try getting a low cost recording oximeter. Have your mom use it overnight and then check it in the morning. Desats from any apnea should show up. I used one that turned out to show that my Mom only had positional apnea. Adjusting how she slept was all she needed. But certainly the same me...

Thank you!Pugsy wrote:Auto mode with a minimum and maximum to include a range of pressures will enable the machine to auto titrate within whatever parameters (the range) you have set.

Re: getting my mother to try my CPAP
Also, any advice on how to get a parent to try one would be useful I'll let you know when I figure it out My Dad didn't use his until after he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer that eventually spread to his lungs. That combined with emphysema from years of smoking made it pretty difficult for hi...

Re: getting my mother to try my CPAP
Very possible but my mom tends to "not be interested" when things cost $$.SewTired wrote:Their reluctance for testing may be their way of telling you to leave them alone. Just like telling someone to quit smoking or lose weight.

Re: getting my mother to try my CPAP
In terms of settings. I would start out with something modest just to see if the machine wants to increase the pressure and then worry about optimizing the settings based on their feelings about using the machine should it be needed. I would start with something like 5 or 6 cm minimum and maybe 10 ...

getting my mother to try my CPAP
Hi All, I've been using my CPAP for over 2 years now, so I am pretty well squared away. I started noticing apnea symptoms in my 10 year old so I purchased this O2 meter: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LN4LCMC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and tested everyone in my family. Sure e...

Re: any atypical apnea patients out there?
I changed my pressure to 7-10 but my AHI has kept going up over the past two nights so I switched it back to 7. Guess I'll have to find the thread for people whose symptoms haven't completely resolved. If anyone knows of one, I would appreciate the link. Thanks again

Thanks so much! I changed my max setting. Crossing my fingers! Tonight will be a true test as I have a cold.

Re: any atypical apnea patients out there?
I'll have to tinker with Sleepyhead.
I went to adjust my settings and can't find it in the menu anywhere. I swear it was there before. Is this something the sleep center can turn off when they take my memory card and send it back? Does anyone know how I turn the pressure setting options back on?

Re: any atypical apnea patients out there?
OK so hopefully I am doing this correctly. Here is my info from last night, which wasn't so great for me. http://i.imgur.com/a0BQTRZl.png?1 http://i.imgur.com/0UtfeQCl.png?1 http://i.imgur.com/n4DX9Cjl.png?1 My pressure right now is 7. Someone mentioned that I might try increasing the pressure. How ...

Re: any atypical apnea patients out there?
Thank you to everyone who has responded. You validated what my gut was telling me and I wasn't aware of things such as RERA. I will ask my Dr. about the next time I see him. I have been using a PR System One CPAP since September. Luckily I didn't really have any additional problems sleeping with it ...

any atypical apnea patients out there?
To look at me, you wouldn't guess that I would have sleep apnea. All the doctors like to point this out to me however my 45 AHI says otherwise. I've gotten my AHI down to 2 or 3 with CPAP but I am still tired all day, just not as much as before. (I don't know how I managed to live with the 45!) I st...
