Re: DIY small humidifier solution
The Z1 portable CPAP machine has a disposable inline humidifier that gets the moisture from your exhaled breath. They're $5.95 each. The Z1 advocate here claims he gets a week or two out of it. Search on "Z1 CPAP HME humidifier". I'm not sure how close they need to be to the mask to work effectively...

Re: My CPAP keeps waking my sleep partner
Thank you all for your replies. They're all very helpful. I'm going to give the P10 a try and see what I (and my husband) think of that. If leaks are still waking him up, I think I'll give the liners a try. I started with a nasal mask. I wish I'd known about the common wisdom of try pillows, if tha...

Re: Partially off topic: electricty and power surges
I think people are getting the diagnosis wrong. This has nothing to do with the power brick or the quality of power in the house. It's a humidity problem. Any laptop I've ever owned runs in a low power mode when it's running on battery. The machine runs hotter when it's plugged in than when it's ru...

Thanks for the help! With time of the essence so I can test and know what I'm getting into before we leave this weekend, we bought what we could find today: Battery - Sears AGM Group 31 http://www.sears.com/diehard-platinum-marine-battery-group-size-31m-price/p-02850131000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockT...

Re: CPAP fitting appointment
If your script does not specify a machine try to get one that is data capable and APAP (automatic pressure range. This. Actually, tell them you're going to change to a different DME if they don't give you a data-capable APAP machine. It's tough to get your pressure settings dialed in if you can't s...

Re: cpap use in Italy will extension cord work?
I just travel with a small 3-way outlet and whatever adapter plugs might be needed where I'm going. Between the length of the power cord on the power supply and the length of the hose, I've never had a problem getting the hose to the bed. Worst case, I can run my laptop, cell phone charger, and CPAP...

Re: Airsense 10 faulty machine?
My A10 machine is set at 14-17 AutoSet with no ramp and 3 cm-h20 EPR. It would occasionally go nuts and blast me. For months, I've been power cycling it every night before going to sleep and the problem went away. I just did a trip to Korea and the power brick heated up molten hot and kept quitting ...

Re: CPAP BUFFS! Please help me shop
If you have to pay cash for your machine, then yes, things get more complicated because you will need to consider the price vs. features. That's a whole other discussion. If you have to pay cash, then the S9 should be cheaper than the 10. But otherwise, I'd go with the 10. I have an S9 AutoSet as a...

Re: Longer lasting power for tent camping
A lot depends on what you mean by tent camping. If you are hiking to get there, you are limited in size/weight. If you are driving there, a longer term solution would be the DYI battery setup by CapnLoki. Much bigger battery so much longer available service. I independently pretty much cloned the s...

GeoffD, I cant sleep without humidification, I just get too dry. The HME, Heat Moisture Exchanger, is a technology used for patients who breath through their trachea and has been adapted to fit on a mask. Testing of these units revealed that they worked for at least 7 days but they don't recommend ...

Re: Airfit P10 vs Swift FX Pillows
I switched to the P10 in November. For me, it functions perfectly. I have no issues at all with the diffuser or durability. I think it's the most unobtrusive solution on the market. After 5 months, I'm barely aware I'm using it. There is no one-size-fits-all solution out there but I think everybody ...

Re: Travel c pap recommendation
The downside to the Z1 Auto is the lack of humidification but I use the $6 HME and can get 2 weeks out of it. For me the cost is insignificant and I'd prefer that as opposed to lugging my PRS1 along (I've done it and hate it). I'm trying to work out humidifier options for battery use. What is an HME?

Re: New larger AirSense bag! Has spot for mask
I got my A10 two months ago. It had the larger case with separate pockets for the hose and the mask. I use it for automobile travel. For an airplane, I just put the A10 in a gallon zip lock bag, coil the hose and my P10 nasal pillow mask in another gallon zip lock bag, and toss them in my roll-aboa...
